    Does Cristiano Ronaldo think about retiring from football?

    If you thought that Cristiano Ronaldo would play football forever, think again. Ranked as the world’s highest-paid athlete and one of the most influential people in the world according to Time, CR7 may be prepared to say goodbye to the football field. It only passed a year since he sealed his £99.2m move from Real Madrid to Juventus, but the football star gave a few hints about retirement.

    It would be kind of cliché to say that Ronaldo was born with a desire to play football, but the star began to sharpen his talent since he was 12 years old. After he recovered from heart surgery, he began his senior club career playing for Sporting CP and in 2003 signed with Manchester United. That was the moment when Ronaldo encountered the number 7, a shirt that was previously worn by the best United players, George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham. The season 2007-08 was one of his finest because he succeeded to score 42 League and Cup goals. Like any other successful football player, Ronaldo had some key points in his career that are worth remembering:

    • He helped Manchester United win three Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League title and a FIFA Club World Cup;
    • He was only 23 years old when he received his first Ballond’Or;
    • In 2009 was transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid for £80 million;
    • During season 2011-12 he helped Real Madrid capture a La Liga championship and managed to score 46 goals;
    • Real Madrid won the Champions League three times with Ronaldo;
    • He finished his Real career with 311 goals in 292 matches and in 2018 he signed a four-year contract with Juventus.

    Fame is inevitable when you are such a notorious player, so there’s no wonder that Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed user on Instagram. This attracted all kinds of investors, so CR7 used his image in various advertising campaigns. He promoted luxury watches, sneakers, shampoos, sportswear, sports drinks and was the face of a popular poker and casino brand[/URL]. A keen player himself, he declared that he loves the competition, enjoys creating strategies and likes that he can have plenty of fun. Poker enthusiasts also share his feelings and when these games come with fun bonuses is even better.

    No matter if you are a football fan or not, you surely heard of Cristiano Ronaldo. But despite his great accomplishments in football, Cristiano Ronaldo may seem a little bit arrogant for some. His critics were proved right when he made a statement at a Real-Dinamo Zagreb match in 2011. After he was booed and the Dinamo fans started to chant Lionel Messi’s name, he declared that "I think that because I am rich, handsome and a great player people are envious of me.” In a more recent series of events, Ronaldo left the pitch in a Juventus-Milan match before the final whistle. He was replaced by Paulo Dybala on 55 minute and the Argentinian player succeed to score a winning goal.

    Now, at 34 years old, the Juventus forwarder thinks about retirement. In an interview with Sport Bible, he declared that he sees himself off the pitch and may withdraw in “one or two years”. We don’t know if this topic has something to do with the fact that wants to develop his father-son relationship, but the player explained that becoming a father has changed him a lot. Like any other parent that made some money doing what he loves, Ronaldo said that he wants his son to follow his footsteps and be a forward.
