Glasgow's Genting Casino To Complete £1.6M Refurbishment This Month

A Genting Casino in Glasgow is currently undergoing a £1.6 million refurbishment which the firm states will completely revamp “one of the city’s most popular gaming venues”.

The popular brick-and-mortar casino was urged to remain open and operational during the refurbishment, which is expected to complete at the end of November 2019. The refurbishment will update the casino’s gaming facilities with an added room which will reportedly feature 20 slot machines and 10 betting terminals.

According to CasinoBeats, the casino’s mahjong room will be given a complete makeover and a Chinese theme will be incorporated throughout the entire casino site. This will come in the form of graphic wallpaper, paintings, and light fixtures. What’s more, Genting Casino has planned several relaunch events to coincide with Chinese New Year in January.

A new meeting room will also be added to the casino while its food and beverage sites, including the famous Hou Mei Chinese Restaurant, are given an oriental-themed makeover which includes new decor and furniture, as well as an oriental-styled menu and the addition of three karaoke rooms.

Iain Gardiner, Genting Casino Glasgow’s General Manager, said of the revamp: “We’re making a significant investment in the Glasgow casino to ensure our customers can enjoy the best gaming experience available. We have an extremely strong relationship with the Chinese community in the city and it’s great to acknowledge those links as part of the refurbishment.”

    Casino Revamps and Redesigns

However, it’s not just brick-and-mortar casinos that face revamps, redesigns and relaunches. Casumo, a popular online casino in the UK, recently underwent a total redesign to be more in line with new casino brands that recently entered the market.

The Swedish online casino, which originally launched in 2012, relaunched its website back in September, debuting a brand new look which geared itself towards mobile users. The website scrapped its iconic mascot and blue-theme for a minimalistic theme and layout.

Similarly, 888 Casino underwent a redesign in 2018. The firm’s new design concentrated on improving player experience by incorporating a sleek and stylish design that makes the site much more attractive and mobile-friendly.

More recently, Trada Casino users were left confused after visiting the site this week to find a message informing them that the site had been taken offline for “some exciting upgrades”. While the website doesn’t yet explain what the upgrades are, it’s believed that the update will be a redesign of the online casino website.

These redesigns and revamps of online casinos are a smart investment as it helps attract new players while also piquing the interest of regular, old or long-term players. The redesign may also come with a brand new welcome bonus, which is sure to retain customers and bring new customers in.

Redesigns may also help pull in a completely different type of clientele. As users who first visit a casino site may be put off by its strange or difficult website layout but upon returning after a redesign, may enjoy the casino and transition into a long-term customer. Website design makes all the difference.

In today’s modern world, most online casino sites redesign their website to support mobile-compatibility, as evidenced by Casumo’s revamp. Most people browse the internet with their smartphone devices now, and it’s important for online casinos to keep updated and relevant by relaunching their sites to support mobile-browsing. If online casinos fail to appeal to mobile users, they may find themselves losing customers, and redesigns ensure this never happens.
