Watched all the episodes and thought it was decent. Could do without the every episode needing a lesson learned at the end.

If it was just the constant madness of the area and the boys up to no good it’d be better. Stop trying to make everyone emotional all the time.

Completely disagree (which doesn't mean you are wrong).

IMHO, the little tugs at the heart-strings are what makes it so special. Inane anarchic foul-mouthed slapstick stupidity has been done to death - and probably better.

It's the (very brief!) familial / social commentaries which set it apart from the likes of The Inbetweeners. They stand out as an important reminder to viewers that although they're getting their giggles from watching a bunch of thick-as-* gobshite eejits from a deprived part of Cork, at the end of the day - people like Conor, Jock, Mairead and Billy are every bit as important as the rest of us!

I'm not a hugely emotional person, but Episode 3 from Series 1 left me with a lump in my throat. Didn't help that I'd lost my own Mother fairly recently beforehand, but it generally underlined the point that EVERY Mother counts!

Fair point, I think they did it better in season 1 as I didn’t have much of a problem with it then.

Aye - the film came first and got such a good reception that the first series was commissioned.

TBH, quite a few of the situational gags were carried over from the film to Series 1.
