not a big fan of him as a person (to much of the PR driven * and * talking stuff, fkn ambassador of everything ietc) but undoubtedly - best player ever by a country mile..... such an incredible talent and body perfectly designed for the game.
    beautiful tennis to watch, too

I find him the most inoffensive sportsperson possible.

I know he’s vastly wealthy which in turn comes with its own challenges and I know he has a wee bit of the holier than thou persona but if you scrape all that back he is the purest tennis player there’s ever been. By some measurable distance.

He’s the Messi, MVG, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Ali of tennis.

Aye, and any sportsman at his level is going to come out with the PR friendly smile and soundbites, he’s got an image to look after.

For a superstar he comes across as fairly down to earth, for me.

We're beginning to see the changing of the guard now. Tsitsipas against either Thiem or Zverev in the ATP Tour Finals. These three guys are going to be at the top of the men's game for the next decade. No offence to them, but it is sad to see the Federer/Djokovic/Nadal/Murray era ending. It's been an incredible time for tennis and probably won't ever be bettered. Some of the matches I will never forget.

There’s been plenty false dawns about this era ending. Until this new breed of player starts winning Slams it isn’t over.

For the last 10 years (40 Slams) Fed, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray and Wawrinka have won all but 1 single Title. The 2014 US.

I don't think we'll have much longer to wait for that to happen. Tsitsipas is on the cusp of becoming tennis' next superstar, Thiem is already the second best clay court player on the planet, and Zverev isn't too far behind when he isn't bothered by off court problems. It's definitely coming.

The stat you quoted is amazing though. A testament to the unbelievable level of consistency those top four players reached. Wawrinka is/was none too shabby either. It's a pity he was such a late bloomer or he'd have possible won a few more slams himself.

That Depeche Mode when we score!!
I strongly fancy Tsitsipas to go and win the next Aussie Open. He is 12/1 at Hills, well worth a punt.

Big Greek community in Melbourne. He'll certainly have plenty support down there.

Murray has confirmed a pelvic injury will keep him out of the forthcoming Australian Open. Disappointed as I was looking forward to seeing him in a slam again.

It wouldn’t be a dull night out with him anyway, he has all the talent in the world but I honestly don’t think he gives a *.

    looking for a wee favour:

i think it must've been 2006, possibly during the AO, McEnroe (i think) did interview with Andy during which was constantly referring to him as "English". after a few of those faux pas Andy stopped him and said something like - "you try call me English once again...." it was cool as * but i fkn cannot find a clip of it anywhere online. if you ever come across it, please post here immediately :) muchas gracias my friends!
