B,they usually congregate in graveyards and cemeteries, I think it's to do with the ground being dug and disturbing the worms and insects, they're chancers so they'll hang around anywhere there's food to be had. both Red and myself have previously posted photos of crows in cemeteries. you could take your new camera when there is no burial taking place then it won't be innapropriate.

Seen it all before Red,first it's the kitchen sink, then it's having the camera taken off you, then it's you who's wearing the bucket, then...

A couple from today's activity Chez AMR. I watched this wee fella run about looking for fallen apples and saw him find one, lift it and then literally flip it from one hand to the other before sticking it in his mouth and running off...with it still in his mouth. This is him after burying it.

I was at a funeral a few years ago, and like yourself mate, the birdspotting was superb. My wife wasn't too happy at me and my daughter as all we kept doing was looking around to see what birds we could spot. I had to laugh when my daughter whispered to me,"what a waste of a good birding session". It wasn't as if the funeral was for a close family member, just a brother-in-law's father.

    Blackbird
    Robin
    Wren
    Thrush
    Skylark

The wee squirrel was up to his antics today again, tossing the apples about like a Harlem Globetrotter. If only he'd been around in the 70s or 80's he could have tossed them at a passing British army foot patrol! :fear: He still can't make it up as far as the feeders themselves but he's getting closer.

Got the * and male blackbird having a wee drink in the guttering of a neighbour's garage. To keep things balanced, there's a picture of a female blackbird in our apple tree.
