Haha I don't mind a bit of a techno, but I normally fall to more melodic stuff.

Saw them at Warehouse Project last year and they were incredible.

Fly down early doors, on it all day probably, while trying to keep ourselves in at least remember it, then fly home Sunday afternoon, allegedly. I can see me ending up spending a few days there as meeting a few pals as well.

That is so far removed from Slipmatts signature sound.

    He must have been skint.

Mate, I'm 35. That tune was in a DJ Sy Mix that my pal's brother brought back from Metro Newcastle when I must have been maybe 11. I actually love this tune man.

Slipmatt was always breakbeat/junglist when DJ'ing. That song is major happy hardcore.

I'm older than you though. I'm sure he was just reinventing himself to keep up with the current electronic trends.

Not my cup of tea though

I think he fell in with that Dougal and Hixxy bonkers crew. I know he done a few mixes on the Bonkers CDs and as you say playing for the pound. Honestly despise all that stuff with a passion but I do know a lot of young teenagers were into it and it’s the age group behind us that embrace it. Hated them * Scooter and all the euro trance stuff. I was always massive into Sasha & Digweed, Steve Lawler or Nick Warren. My all time is old acid house Italian and NY house. Love it but too slow for some. Takes all tastes.

    @packybhoy

    Old school hard house classics.

Thought this might be up your street.

Too hard and fast. I do like techno but more like Richie Hawton, Laurent Garnier, Joey Beltram and early Detroit techno like Derek May (Strings of life). Green Velvet for more updated. Love the early Belgium rave stuff. In my taste I always thought the actual music got lost in the speed of hardhouse sets. Music evolves and goes in every direction and finds its listeners and followers but I was always wrapped up in Acid house and Italian.

    Listening now.

Ok try this. More ambient than house but I relied on this when coming down from a night of hardcore.

I love some of the names you dropped there too. Beltram, May etc... Our taste isn't to far apart, just the BPM :giggle1:

Perfect mate. Would have listened to this as well. Also The Orb album with Little fluffy clouds was always a go to or Future Sound of London and Electribe 101.

1991. Scary thought. Her voice is like honey.

Great band and album. Swedish I think.

Love that. Especially the outlander stuff.

How about this? Njoi... Pioneers of the techno movement.

I was at this gig fleeing out my nut on snowballs :giggle1:

    Hi
That track at around 8 mins (Manic) I used to play out DJing in sets. Saw them about this time in Belfast. Some hallions from the markets area (Catholic) stole their big synth of their tour bus.

Singer on the opening track is Saffron. Future lead singer of Republica.

Interestingly enough they opened for Shamen in 98 in the Arches.
