Can I just add a minor clause to the new contract: 'Please feel free to pass to other players sometimes rather than randomly shooting, ta!' Lol

Fantastic news. The wee guy is a throwback to the old days of not chasing the pounds and playing where he lives it.

Delighted he's going to be here for even longer :50:

Agree that he was greedy in the 2nd half the other day, however they were all at it! Especially Elyounoussi. Im not going to fault anyone for the 2nd half display on Sunday, game was won at half time and we had a tough European game on Thursday

He'll be here until he's about 40, I look forward to him as captain with grey hair, playing his 700th game, his 150th European game, winning his 30th trophy etc Probably even breaking the League title record by getting to 13.

Forrest will end up with more than 20 domestic honors.
    Over 500 games
    Over 100 goals
    Over 100 assists
And will close in on 15 seasons at the club.

He will end up a club legend without a doubt.

CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announced that James Forrest has signed a new four-year deal that will see him remain at the club until at least the summer of 2023

The 28-year-old has come through the ranks at Celtic, joining the club as a nine-year-old and progressing through the ranks to become a key player in Neil Lennon’s first-team.

It was the Irishman who gave James his first-team debut back in May 2010 when he brought him on as a substitute against Motherwell. Within eight minutes of coming on, James had scored his first Celtic goal.

He has since gone on to score a total of 81 goals for the Hoops – including nine already this season – in a total of 369 appearances, while his haul of honours is equally impressive.

To date, he has won eight league titles, five Scottish Cups and four League Cups, and has been an integral part of Celtic’s historic Treble Treble success, while he was also named the PFA Scotland Player of the Year for last season.

I don't care what anyone says, when we win the 10, Forrest will go down in Celtic folklore as a legend for me.

It really is a breath of fresh air to see players with his level of passion and commitment to the club in modern day football.

JAMES Forrest is looking forward to continuing to help Celtic win more silverware after signing a new contract with the club. Forrest extended his stay with the Hoops today (October 30) after agreeing a new four-year deal that will see him remain a Celt until at least the summer of 2023.

The 28-year-old has won 17 pieces of silverware since making his debut back in May 2010 away to Motherwell, including all eight in the current run of league titles as well as five Scottish Cups and four League Cups.

Seeking exclusively to Celtic TV immediately after extending his stay with the club, Forrest said he was excited to play his part in bring more success to the club he first joined as a nine-year-old.

“I love it here," he said. "I came through the Youth Academy and every year I just enjoy it more. I’m absolutely delighted to extend my stay here and I’m looking forward to winning more league titles and cups with the club.

“The last couple of years especially have been unbelievable. When you keep winning trophies it makes you eager and wanting to strive to win more. That pushes you on for more and I want to keep winning as much as I can.”

Forrest won the PFA Player of the Year, Premiership Player of the Year and Football Writers’ Player of the Year at the end of last season in which he scored 18 goals and assisted with 20 in his 56 appearances.

He said the pressure to succeed at a club like Celtic was huge but insisted the fans made it all worthwhile and added he was determined to continue working hard for them over the coming years.

“If you ask any player or member of staff, they all know how much the fans mean to the club and how big this club is," he said. "It’s great to be here, especially when you’re winning trophies and doing well, it’s a great feeling.

“With the players the club signs it’s always competitive. Every few days you’re playing against a good team and bettering yourself while looking forward to European games as well. I’m really happy to be staying here for a good bit longer.

“I enjoy playing for Celtic, I’ve been in the first team for a good few years now and I want to keep working hard to see how many years I can stay in the first team and keep on top of my game.”

Great news. Some player's sign new deals and it really means nothing...but at 28 I can deffo see that being him now..

Hopefully the first of a few other's signing on..

Also might be why he wasn't at his free-flowing best Thursday and Sunday with getting this finalised..
