I like the guy but he needs dropped.

Maybe play Elhamed at CB, or Biton if he's fit, Jozo is coming back in too. The best I've seen our back 4 was against the huns and Ajer wasn't playing that day.

Banging that drum again but this poor run of form could be a chance to try him as a 6?

I'd still like to see it..

Seems to be getting off with the first goal yesterday..

Broony and the defensive line are getting it. It was all down to Ajer though coming out with the ball..

I think Ajer was playing fine until he started getting asked to run up and down the wing for that period of time.
Seems to have unsettled him in a way and may take a while until he comes back to his normal, standout self.

When the big man does his long run through the midfield. He needs to know when to release the ball & get back into position.

Not on the best of form lately but surely we can give a guy more than 3 games before calling for him to be dropped after being so solid in the majority of games before that?

Having a poor run of form, I would like to see Elhammed in beside Julien.

This is the problem with us not actually signing many players. We badly needed two centre backs at a minimum this summer, we got one.
Ajer off form, Jozo injured or lost down an alley, and we are now practically forced to play him through this bad spell.

Absolutely criminal we didn't sign another one.

We signed 11 players, 3 of which are actual centre halves.

Jullien, Ajer, Jozo, Elhamed, Bitton, O’Connor, Hendry is more than enough numbers for 2 positions.

Our only real issue just now is Ajer is in his worst spell of form, by far, as a first choice.

Jullien and Ajer are our first choice pairing, it’ll take time for that partnership to properly gel. It’s done well so far considering.

Aye i know and totally agree with that. :celt_2:
I was more talking aboot the time in the previous games where he was asked to run up and down the right wing.
IIRC for they few games before Ehamed, Bauer came in/playing.

Whereas, when he played on the left side and made these runs up through midfield, he didn't seem to have any prob's
getting back into position. In fact, i never really did see him making the mistakes he has recently.

But aye, no matter, he should be doing better.

Newspaper Dagbladet was impressed with the Celtic man's performance, aside from one potential error.
They wrote: "Strong and uncompromising. Directed the others and has evolved to become a commander of the Norwegian defence.

"But why did he turn his back on Saul Niguez for the goal to make it 1-0?"

Seems be at fault for spainish goal.
    Becoming regular habit he getting.

Don't think he was too bad but he's making me nervous far more lately..

Get's caught out and also when he goes running with the ball, he doesn't release it in time..

We could try him in midfield, in Brown's role:

    Forster
    Frimpong Elhamed Jullien Bolingoli
    Ajer McGregor

I see Ajax are playing two "centre-halves" (Álvarez being one of them) in the holding roles, and having success.
