    'Debate' (very heated lol) in the pub after the Hibs game over McStay. One guy (58) said McStay was the best centre midfielder he'd seen at Celtic. My Granda (76) said Bobby Murdoch was better.

    I said Landry N'Guemo and tried my best to stick with the fishing trip for as long as I could. Had one guy 'hook, line and sinker' saying I was either on drugs or deranged.

    But afterwards I agreed that McStay in probably the best centre mid I've seen in the hoops (29)

    His whole career and a Tim from a big Tim family....then just ups and leaves to Australia..

    Better life over there no doubt but he must definitely miss being around the club in some capacity..

    I've always thought that about him too.

    Could have been a Tom Boyd-type in and around the club for all his days. Think there was a story there though...

    He doesn't really have the personality for it either though I suppose, a quiet unassuming guy. Must be nice to feel the love any time he is back.

    I wonder if he even get's up and watches all the game's now..

    Think I heard before he's a bit non fussed over there but could be wrong..

    Probably why his charity match was only half full. If he was a bit more present...there'd probably have been a bit more at it..

    Aye i can only imagine being absolutely adored to nobody knowing you on the other side of the world....but that's exactly how he wanted it to be. Must miss it though. Has to..

    His ability and loyalty isn't in question.

    Temperament is everything though, he was humble, shy and unassuming. If he had just a wee bit of arrogance in him, who knows where it would have taken him. He would have definitely moved, glad he didn't tho.
