We’ve got 3 RBs that can come in and play and all have shown they can be relied upon. The same can’t be said for LB..

The quicker we have two options, three if you include Hayes the better.. and like I say it can’t be doing Taylor’s confidence any good.

 

We also needed to get Bitton on to get him up to speed after injury, with Ntcham and Jozo being out.

We’ve been wanting Shved to get minutes and taking Eddy off when the games won with Thursday in mind, getting Bayo some minutes on the pitch is just smart management.

Yup. So getting him returned and bedded in for us is ideal.

 

So he’s had more game time than Taylor then?

 

And? He’s back from injury, getting him up to speed while he’s covering two positions. A more senior player of the squad. We have Boli, Hayes and Taylor.

Taylor will need to bide his time and prove he deserves to be on the pitch, disrupting the defence and dropping players * nilly and in the process getting our first choice to go in rusty to a very important European tie, further upsetting the gelling of our new look back 4 is just daft.

 

We have 3 good options at RB.

At LB we have one good, one never a LB and one untested.. he should have made his debut by now.

We have a settled back 5 who are used to playing with one another.. no risk in giving Taylor 20mins today, wasn’t even on the bench.

An injury to Bolingoli could leaves us needlessly exposed at LB.. Taylor should have made his debut by now and nothing you can say will change my opinion on that one..

 

I disagree with Hayes never an option, was good enough to get MotM against Valencia and has shown he can come in.

They aren’t settled, Forster, Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer and Boli. How many times have that back 4 played together?

 

I don’t to make it about Hayes, he’s our 4th choice LW and 3rd choice LB..

That back 4 have played enough - Ibrox, Europa League - that throwing in Taylor for 20mins when 6-0 up would make zero difference to their continuity as unit.

 

Assuming Boli plays mid week, I would start Taylor against sheep

 

And it would make other players that also need game time not get it, other players that may be showing more and are ahead in the pecking order.

They have played nowhere near enough together yet. I’d be surprised if they’ve even had 10 games together. That’s not enough.

 

We’ve bought a new CB, 3 x RBs, 2 x LBs and a new GK .. of course they’ve not played enough in relative terms but they’ve certainly played enough to give your new £2m LB his debut by now..

 

I’m totally baffled why we fought so hard to get him yet he’s nowhere to be seen. Fair enough Bolingoli has turned it round, but it’s still a mystery why Taylor hasn’t featured yet.

 

People need to earn a place, disturbing our backline when they’ve really struggled for game time together when we’re trying to bed in a new team in a new style, especially if it’s a week like today off the back of an international break going into a game in Europe where it will actively harm your first choice going into that? Just daft man.

We won 6-0 today, used 3 subs for players that needed game time and would protect our most important players going into that Lazio game, all round, shows Lenny got it spot on today.

 

No really mate, injured when he came in, getting up to speed, international breaks, and needing to get our back 4 gelled together and up to speed shows why.

 

He has been away with two Scotland squads mate so I’d think he’s up to speed tbh. I just find the whole big chase of him then nowhere to be seen rather odd.

 

He’s not first choice and we knew that when he came in. We’re trying to get our defence up to speed.

I know he’s been away, I’m not saying he’s unfit. Just that when they’re are international breaks the likes of Boli aren’t playing, so the likes of today he needs a game before Lazio or else rustiness will set in.

 

NL said earlier today that Frimpong forced himself into contention with his displays at training. Maybe Taylor hasn't been doing that?

 

You’re missing the point..

It’s daft to sign a LB for £2m and giving him zero game time so he doesn’t become a viable option if your first choice LB is struggling in a game or gets injured..

Or there’s something going on with him in the background..

It’s a 100% weird he hasn’t made debut by now. We chased him for most of the widow and he was buzzin when he signed.
