Well we got beavers now( don’t do it,you know it’s a cheap shot) and they just introduced pine martens here as well. Between the sheep that roam free, wild boars and deer...let’s have a party. Anyone got any spare wildebeests, might as well have them as well.....

I am very very very surprised that Crow himself has not had a wee look at the ultra cool Corvid pictures that appear in this Thread. :84:

Iwas out for a walk earlier and saw a few Brent geese arriving into Ballisodare bay, they come every year around this time and stay for the winter.
Saw a fight just outside the house today between a doo and a hawk,i managed to get a few pics through the window,i'll post them later if I get a chance.

The fight from this afternoon, apologies for the blur in some pics, between the excitement of seeing this and the condensation on the windae due to the spuds boiling for the dinner some are a bit out of focus.

Thanks BFL,the tussle didn’t end up as you might expect, you can see from the sequence of the pictures that the pigeon turned the tables on the hawk and got clean away.the last I saw was the doo flying away with the hawk in hot pursuit.
I don’t know my hawk breeds too well but maybe cider or Johnboy could let us know?

Me and the Mrs walking through woods the other day and saw a wildcat. An actual no nonsense 100% wildcat. I didn't believe they existed in Scotland but the mrs got the phone out and showed me that they actually do. Just a few thousand apparently. This one was just a young one....you could tell that. But it was still massive. Id be interested to find out the size of an *. It had a stripy brownish/bottle green coat and had caught something like a squirrel or something that it was carrying its mouth. It stopped and looked at us for ages before bounding off over branches and tree trunks into the forest.

I really couldn't believe it. You hear about sightings of Panthers and Pumas roaming around the moors. This was not a Panther or a Puma but there was no doubt it was an actual wildcat.

Thanks, Johnie. This wee fella didn't stray from the republican plot the whole time we were there. :celt_2: I was just sorry we had nothing for him as he was hungry but we have now a box of bikkies in the boot of the car specially for crows.

I saw something at work today that I've never ever seen . It was a fight between two * male Robins . It was like a weird bout of wrestling . They were locked together on the ground , in a clinch . Then they would move around a bit before locking their hold again . I moved as close as I could to get a good view , but I spooked them and the both flew off . Seemingly no worse for experience . Also today , it was very misty and dew was present on every spider's web I saw . It was a spectacular sight .

Yes Robins frequently fight, but of course not always seen. They sometimes even kill each other of their territories!!
