    Correct. That's why I would go for a VT over a big role discard.

    Due to the number of mafia discards I'd be much more inclined to believe that the town discards are far more likely to yield a scum player than the mafia discards.

    The 3 VT are where I would be looking at for a punt if I were going to have a go with no info.

    The best logic I've come up with in my head so far relates to the serial killers.

    Serial killer is a good role to give up. I can't imagine that both will be offered SK and a strong town role. One if the two will be scum imo.

    Hopefully someone with an investigatory role will check that in the night phase.
