For the record: I honestly come to this thread when I find myself struggling with stupidity and hostility in the fitba world. There are so many examples around us, often too many to count. A bird (or creature) just doing its thing is so refreshing!

Now, what I don't mind counting: a cheeky Hun magpie (*thanks, BLF for that imagery! LOL), squirrel, or mouse... even though they are all * in their own ways. It takes me to a place where the stakes seem to make so much more sense: where the adversaries are beneficial or at least have their own legitimate needs, as opposed to our Orange oppressors.

Human beings are such weird creatures. I wish we could all just be kind to one another, compromise in meaningful ways, and not be complete asshats. Thank goodness for birds and wildlife who tell us about how our activities and how they are affecting everything around us, and not for the better...

Saw a moose and a cayote ...throw in a black bear which got far too close for comfort ..I got that on video when it decided to vacate our space but my Canadian fishing partner really * it and he's had plenty experience with bears.
Also seen bald eagles and we've caught a few steelhead and coho.
The scenery out here is * awesome. IMG_20191005_151518.jpg

Not the best pictures in the world, but here is a Little Egret which was busy feeding on my local beach this morning.
As recently as the 70s they were a big rarity in these Isles, still a good record in the early 90s,now they are breeding in some numbers down south and are spreading big time.

Beautiful bird good friend. Aberlady Bay, just before you come to Nth Berwick is a great place to see Little Egrets. I've been there many times. Great for all sorts of birdlife.

This big crow has worked out how to open the feeder and is flying away with full fat balls.
