They’d want the vast majority of their money back and we can’t afford it or his wages on paper.

Nor should we try to based on 1 quality performance either, let’s get him fit and firing and see where he’s at come next spring/summer.

No harm in trying but cannot imagine any way they would say yes. No idea what his wages would be but I am guessing higher then what we pay probably and then the purchase price. Southampton paid 16m for him. No way we are paying anywhere near that kind of money.

Best bet for us might be could we persuade them to give him to us a second full season on loan.

He earns 60k a week, he will not halve his salary with 3 years left to go on his contract. With 1 year he may just do it.

If he keeps getting better as he gets fitter we should at least try and extend the loan another year like paddy.

Yes, sounds like our best option.
Love his clever running, makes space for Boli.
His goal was a result of his tracking back, winning a dirty ball and then having the mindset to spot a killer pass to Forrest, run half the length of the park and be available for the pull back.
Lets hope he continues to improve, got to be a player there, has bag loads of European experience.

If there wasn't the tightarse Lawwell to worry about "bank balance", we could buy Elyounoussi and Forster with little issues. Southampton don't want either, and they do owe us a bit, after poaching 3 of our players in the past for little money. A gentlemanly deal with a fair price to ensure cordial relations between clubs.

I'd pay a few million for another year's loan.

In the time of crazy fees, really £3m for a year's loan for a quality player would be good biz.

    Yeah, 16mil - 5yr contract...

3mil sounds about right to me and would have np's with another/extended loan for him.
Gives us a chance in europe to accumulate some funds to replace him when the time comes.

Got to say, to see what that goal meant to him and to see his celebration for edouards to, were class.
This is something that Southampton just cannot give him. 60,000 mad tims at Parkheid on a european night.

Erling Braut Haaland has reported the loss to the national team and the European Championship qualifiers against Spain and Romania due to a hip injury. Mohamed Elyounoussi (Celtic) is a new player in the squad.

Aye, was thinking that after watching highlights for 10th time, must be a bit of an eye opener for players like him. I know he's been here and battered us in a European game and experienced the atmosphere as an opponent but that must have felt incredible the other night. He's probably felt pretty unloved and unwanted down there, that would have been pure glory injected into the veins. I think he'd be torn if the option came up but I think his head (money elsewhere) would win.

£20 mill for him and Forster, Southampton should take it. Ol'Pistol Pete will make them gag for it, they'll accept and give us £5mill back because they'll be mind * by Big Pistol (pistol being * here) Peter.

Thought he was a real danger today..

One of the few who can claim pass marks.

Definitely mate. Still don’t think we have seen the best of him yet but he is still gaining match fitness. Thought he worked his socks off today. Genuinely was the only one that I could say played with any intensity.
