Could genuinely end his career with 20 league titles! Anyone know the most decorated player ever?

Baffling the Green Brigade or others never saw fit to give him a proper song, and that he only now seems to be getting due credit.

Remember watching his debut, coincidentally also under Lennon, he scored and looked quality right from the start, though plenty youngsters fade away quickly. James' own work ethic has seen him truly make it.
He lost a good 3/4 years to inconsistency with form and injuries, people myself included were right on his back but against odds he fought through and is arguably our best player above Eddy and Christie.

IT was Neil Lennon who gave James Forrest the first of his 363 appearances to date for Celtic when he brought the then 18-year-old on as a substitute with nine minutes of a league match against Motherwell remaining.

Forrest replaced Aiden McGeady, and within six minutes had repaid his manager’s faith in him with a goal – Celtic’s third in a 4-0 victory. James Forrest’s Celtic career was up and running, with the first of 79 goals for the Hoops.

Over the next nine years, Forrest has become an integral part of the club’s success, winning eight league titles, five Scottish Cups and four League Cups.

And last season, as Celtic secured a historic Treble Treble, he was also named the PFA Scotland Player of the Year.

Still only 28, there is still plenty more to come from the player, and that’s a prospect which excites Neil Lennon, who is once again working with Forrest as Celtic manager.

This week, James Forrest launched his biography, Homegrown Hero, which will be published at the start of December, and he looks back on what has already been an extraordinary football journey

And given Forrest’s reluctance to step into the limelight, Neil Lennon was surprised that he’s bringing out a book, although he believes the winger is a great player and a great example for the young players coming through the club’s Youth Academy.

“Jamesy’s been getting a bit of stick about the book from the lads because he’s just so quiet,” said the Celtic manager. “I remember him as an 18-year-old and his persona hasn’t changed one bit.

“His football is of a really quality now, and he’s just been superb. He’s a big-game player and over a long, long period of time at a big club where the expectation levels and the pressure are huge, he just seems to take it all in his stride and get better.

“That’s the key – Jamesy’s getting better, and there’s a maturity now at 28. We feel he’s in his peak years.”

I believe it's Dani Alves sure I saw he had the record when PSG won the league.

Seems I'm correct Alves has 39 in context Forrest has 17 (going by there criteria youth trophies don't count) and Broony is on 20.

That's total medals though mate. I think the question was about league titles; of which I think he has 10.

    Maybe not.

Not sure then I would imagine it would be a player from a * league whose teams won 15 in a row or something though.

A quick Google says Giggs has 13 that would take some beating.

Ex Dynamo Kiev Goalkeeper Oleksandr Shovkovskiy has 14 most I could find.

    Bringing a book out...

That's him playing for Southampton next season then.

    Jokes by the way.
Love the wee man and he seldom speaks much and gets on with his job.

He's not 'hip' or 'cool ' or 'sexy ' enough for the new breed of supporter.
The truth is he's the type of player who is the backbone of our era of success when others with all the razza mattaz and fancy nicknames and songs like dembele and eddy are long gone he'll still be at the club churning out performances winning us even more trophies. A true legend.

From the first whistle, he looked as though he couldn't be arsed.

Fantastic on his day, but there is still a side to him where he seems to pick his games.

Didn't look comfortable on that park, seemed like he had ice skates on and seemed too tentative when running.

Decent game all-round! Was frustrating at times on the one on one though... If I saw him trip.over the ball one more time I was going to have a fit :56:

He was making mistakes tonight and that is that rare it stuck out like a sore thumb.

Stumbling over the ball, choosing the wrong pass, running into opponents. Was a rare * game from Jamesy.

Was poor but was usually closed down by two or three men any time he got on the ball.
