I’d rather Mikey all day over him though.

We have some decent options going at left wing.

Personally would be going with Sinclair on Thursday though. Think Elyounoussi has been a bit quiet which is understandable given his lack of games over the last year.

I'd love to sign this guy but as said can't see it. But if not, my next option would be returning Paddy if we could, he doesn't seem to be playing much with Norwich, failing that the other option could be that guy From Cluj, seems good in front of goal.

I suspect that the paddy boat has sailed, not exactly done much since he left us

I haven't seen anything so far to say he'll make anything like the impact MJ was making until he got injured. He might improve as he gets fitter and more game time but I'd have MJ ahead of him on what they've both shown until now.

Think everyone needs to remember Elyounoussi had played 1 x 90 minutes since February!

And he’s only played 120 minutes so far for us.

Set up the winner in one of the games and then played well in an away draw in Europe.

Aye but we dropped points at weekend so we are in a crisis situation again if you read some!

Almost sounds like some folk are forgetting just how fast Mikey's star is rising.

Ely might be a very good player but if he's getting the left wing spot he's going to have to do something special because right now when fit Mikey always does.

Well he's set up a goal in the league in 1 appearance and a goal in the cup in 1 appearance, not a bad start.

Mikey is injured at the moment and someone is doing a job. Tbh fitness is the guys issue and don't think it'll be long till that's sorted.

For the next while I'd be looking at starting Elyounoussi and bringing Mikey on with half an hour to go, to run at tired defences. With Mikey's recent injuries I think it would make sense to phase him back in slowly and try and make sure he doesn't break down again. After a few weeks change it round and start Mikey for an hour until he is fully back up to speed.

A fit Elyonoussi is a better player. For now. Johnston is still developing.

Once again I think too many people are judging a player who is nowhere near fit and low on confidence.

I guess we just have to wait and see what happens.

The Elyounoussi before Southampton looked a good player, granted. But as it currently stands I would rather have MJ before him. He was looking very good himself before the injury and already showed flashes of brilliance last season. I don’t like the idea of him losing his place for a loan player that’s not looked good in a year. People are quick to dismiss our own youth players too.

Hopefully the competition will do them both good

Not dismissing Johnston at all. I rate him.

But Elyonoussi has more pedigree and on form is a very dangerous player who was the star man at 2 of his previous 3 clubs. One of which is a european regular in Basel.

It wasnt that long ago. All I'm saying is some of the comments towards him are rather typical of our support being knee * - needs time. I'm not meaning yourself in particular either, just in general.

100% - lack of game time last few seasons means he’ll need a while to get his confidence back up. No doubt he’ll be on fire soon.

NL talking him up big time, maybe lining him up for a start tonight.
Would be great to have the option of a fully fit Ely and MJ.

Great selection problem to have, especially with Sinclair available too.
