Hope he’ll be back one day maybe once Brown retires...him and mcgregor in midfield and his wee brother in the 10.

Why? He’s nowhere near good enough.

He's a decent enough player, technically, but painfully slow. Ewan's on a different level.

He’s doing well in Italy, a few of the top teams there were looking at him before he joined Verona. It would be interesting to see him back here after a few seasons of Serie A football

    It wouldn’t really.

He’s nowhere near good enough. There’s a reason why no decent team took him on a free contract and he ended up going to another Serie B team.

Yeah I think he wanted to team up with Fabio Grosso again since he was manager at Bari and moved to Verona after all that debacle. Anyway he’s only 23 he’s only going to get better as he gets older and I think he would be a good replacement for Brown once he retires, obviously only if he wanted to come back to Scotland

Only 23 yet he's won the SPL with Celtic, the Scottish Cup with Hibs, the Norweigen league with Rosenborg, the Norweigen cup with Rosenborg and promotion with Verno. Fair play. Still * though.

He's a good player, but he was/is painfully slow, kind of funny seeing how quick his brother is in comparison.

1-0 down and down to 10.

Doesn’t look like it will be a good start to the season.

Agree, even if he does really well he will probably never suit Celtic or even Scotland. Bit like Charlie Adam, good technical player but a lack of mobility and physicality won't really suit us or Scotland.

LIAM HENDERSON’S Hellas Verona are battling for survival with the smallest budget in Serie A, it has been revealed.

Gazzetta dello Sport have carried out their annual study of salaries in the top-flight and reported that the Gialloblu pay just €25 million (£22.3 million) in wages every year.

is stated that Henderson, who made the switch to the Bentegodi from Bari in the summer of 2018, earns €300,000 a year (£270,000).

That equates to around £5,000 a week, with the ex-Celtic kid the 13th highest paid player at the club.

Verona’s top earner is former Italy internationalist Giampaolo Pazzini, who banks €1.3 million (£1.2 million) despite being far from a guaranteed starter at the age of 35.

Henderson is the first Scot to feature in Serie A since Graeme Souness departed Sampdoria in 1986 – and has started both of Verona’s matches during an undefeated start to their league campaign this term.

Verona’s budget is €3 million (£2.7 million) less than their nearest financial competitors, Brescia, who also operate on a shoestring but were able to splash out on the signing of Mario Balotelli over the summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo earns €31 million (£28 million) a year, meaning his salary alone is more than the entire wage bill of Verona, Brescia, SPAL and Udinese.

Meanwhile, Lazio, who Celtic will face in the Europa League, pay €72 million (£64 million) to their assembled stars.

They boast the sixth-highest total in the division.

Former Manchester United transfer target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Italy marksman Ciro Immobile are their top earners at a yearly €2.5 million (£2.2 million) apiece.

Seems to have lost his place. Rooted to the bench the past few weeks
