Do all clubs rest their best players? Did Jock do that with the Lions? Pretty sure there weren't even subs then so rotation would be a much bigger deal.

Why are we playing at 1pm if it's not televised?

:56: Sounds like you tried to sell the Devil IPTV and he laughed saying 'didn't you know murdoch gives me sky for free? Oh no you're a Scandavian one of those where the world can be beautiful if we all believe in each other people' :s:

Seriously though the problem with rotation is who do we drop, when do we drop them and do we put them back even if the player taking their place had an excellent game? Like for sure big Tam is going to be good so does that mean Ryan is on the bench?

It's not rhetorical, must be very difficult being a manager with a squad of talented players especially one that runs on a budget, the ones where money is no object seem to lose a bit of their soul because nothing means anything when everything has a price

Wouldn’t you agree that McGregor or Brown should be rested for a match, in that case we have Ntcham who has looked great from his sub appearances. We could also play Sinclair (why he’s not getting involved is a mystery) on the wing so we don’t have to keep changing Forrest to the left where he’s less effective (Forrest needs a rest too I think).

Aye I agree it would be great to keep all our players tuned up like a car, not saying you said that, but if you were the manager when every point is precious are you going to be willing to take a risk?

Callum played over 60 competitive matches last year but somehow this season after about 12 or so he's deemed to be leggy. I'm not convinced players get tired. Forrest got a penalty on the left today, he's deadly anywhere near the box with his pace going into it.

No way am I playing Ntcham just cause he made a good sub appearance with fresh legs after sussing the game out on the bench. Imagine Broony doing that, he would have some impact too. Having good subs is vital for any successful modern side but having quality players with concentration and stamina is a different level.

Ntcham was silly to say weak teams don't inspire him but he unveiled the difference between brilliant players and dreamers.

To me that’s exactly why he needs a rest mate, McGregor has had about 2/3weeks off after playing 60 games, players like Messi and Ronaldo who play a similar number of games in the season get 6 weeks off I think the body needs to recuperate longer than McGregor has given, same with Forrest, I know he just got the penalty last night from the left but I always feel he’s less effective there.

Ntcham has made a good impact from the bench in the last few games for me, set up Hayes for the goal at ibrox. Good last night, can’t remember more than that as it’s been ages since the rangers game for me but aye, still think he should get a chance :giggle1:

Not arguing about the ability of Ntcham or Hayes. I'm just pointing out when you come on as a sub you're playing a team already tiring so you have an advantage. Making use of that is a different story as Jonny showed in the huns game when he didn't panic after his first shot was saved.

I've referred to Messi and Ronaldo too and it's a mistake, we shouldn't do it because they are not normal human beings.

All I want to know is what manager of a team on our budget has been successful rotating his squad? I don't think Fergie did it, always seemed to play his best.

Did Wenger rotate in Arsenal's Invincible season?

Not trying to be wide, just trying to be realistic.

These types of matches worry me slightly and just at the back of a tough away day in Europe. Patience will be key and any win will do! They've been in good form and don't lose many goals.

@The Number 23 over the next 5 weeks we have a League Cup Quarter Final, 2 huge Europa games and away trips to Pittodrie and Easter Road.

Home games v Kilmarnock should be exactly the time we give some of our players a rest and give players on the periphery some game time.

    I'd go:

    Forster
    Elhamed Ajer Julien Taylor
    Ntcham McGregor
    Elyounouissi Rogic Hayes
    Bayo

    Forrest, Édouard, Christie
all on the bench to call upon if needed.

    Forrest Griffiths Elyounoussi.

Give McGregor, Christie, Edouard and Elhamed breaks. Same with boli if he's somehow fit. Give Afolabi and O'Connor their debuts too from the bench. Going 2-0 us.

Don't think Lennon will rest many for this, the obvious one would be Rogic or Ntcham starting instead of McGregor and/or Brown. Not sure how fit Taylor is but imagine it'll be him or Hayes at LB.

Same team as last night or maybe start Bayo to give him a confidence boost.

    Both left backs are injured.

don’t know how we will line up in this one.

would expect Bauer, Ntcham, Morgan, Rogic, Bayo all to get starts though.

taylor, bolingoli, Shved, johnston, Jozo and Bitton all injured!
