The clubs accounts are due out this week and will show us how a season without UCL football effects us even though it will have been offset against the money for Moussa and the £10m reported compensation for Rodgers, Congerton and the rest of the coaching staff.

Few things to bear in mind with the final accounts it will only take us up-to all transactions until 30th June 2019 and will exclude this seasons season ticket sales expect to see that listed as “deferred income” as is common practice.

Also it will only include the summer signings of Jullien and Connell.

It won’t include anyone bought or sold after 1st July 2019.

Expect in post balance sheet notes to see

“Acquisitions of Bolingoli, Elhamed, Taylor, Frimpong and O’Connell, as well as temp registrations of Elyounoussi, Bauer and Forster” and the sale of Tierney for a club record fee of £25m.

Bear in mind we announced to the stock exchange in March that we met our “financial objectives” for the season by that time it wouldn’t have included any TV money, any uefa pool money or uefa TV money or any prize money.

With failure to qualify for the UCL groups and also the management team * off in February the wage bill should come down slightly from the £59.7m of the pervious year.

The full reduction in wages from the players who left won’t be fully seen to at least the interim accounts to 31st December 2019 due in February 2020 but I would expect to see a decrease of anything around 15% to 20% due to the management team departures and player turn over some serious earners where offloaded at the end of June when their contracts expired.

So we should have had a very decent year again. I doubt we will get to £100m in turn over again (you never know) but I would expect it to be around £80m plus in turnover therefore increasing the cash at bank and turning a very handsome profit again.
