Personally I always thought it was more to do with him being slow, not reading the game properly and being out of position that meant he had to dive in.

My point though was that some people not being happy with his appointment probably has more to do with how he was perceived after he left us, than anything to do with his coaching abilities, or thinking he isn't up to the job.

How is it? He was no saint when he played for Celtic, so I don't know why you'd expect him to be anything but aggressive when he was playing against us for another club?

I think I’m biased when it comes to him, my love for him kinda went into overdrive because in Tony Mowbray’s season he was the only player on the pitch that would stick up for his teammates around him. I really loved his attitude. Flung in away at the San Siro under WGS and had some performance, as well as Evander * Sno :56:

    Mental times.

I'll be honest, he's one of those players I genuinely don't remember much about. I don't associate him with any feelings of inspiration* on the one hand or of frustration on the other.

    * I don't just mean talent as a player here, McManus (for example) was quite limited in terms of talent, yet still quite inspirational at times.

People expect ex players to be more celtic minded, which would include not going out of your way to injure our current players. At times he seemed more than merely aggressive playing against us, more like he had a grudge, or something to prove. Going studs up over the ball isn't aggressive in my book, it's either stupidly reckless or deliberately trying to injure.

think we should be bringing in more experienced coaches like Larsson or mjallby would have been good coaches to bring in ,keep duff as the reserve coach. kennedy been here a while and is quite an experienced coach now,so deserves his place, considering 3 managers have been in and seem to have been impressed by him.

anyway best of luck to odea regardless.

You seem to be a bit all over the place on this tbf. you keep saying he went out of his way to injure our players however when questioned on this you came out with the " you can't expect folk to watch all of the Dundee games" so what are you basing the "he went out of his way to injure" our players on ? :43:

I don't think anyone is arguing he wasn't reckless at times in the way he played. It's just a question of whether this was particularly against Celtic.

Ex-Celtic players shouldn’t tackle current Celtic players.

    Honestly... nope. :eek1:

I mean, I vaguely remember it, but I didn't remember it being him. Just had to watch it on YouTube there to jog my memory. I don't know what to say about that. IIRC in my head I had to work that day (I certainly did for most big weekend games in those years) and so almost certainly first saw the goal that night after already knowing the result (i.e. without the massive hit of emotion that burns these moments into your brain), but I don't really have a decent excuse for not remembering.

    McGeady ran riot that game.

Two of the most annoying players to stick them to the sword :56:

priceless... sarcasm as it's finest. :50:

Edit: Just saw you're follow up to the reason for that answer, so maybe not sarcasm per se.

Does it make it alright to have forgotten O'Dea that I clearly remember McGeady and especially winning that penalty? :56:

I remember chanting “Darren O’Dea smashed a hun” and I can’t remember why.

I am basing it on the games I watched him play against us. The only reason I mentioned not watching other Dundee games was because someone had said other teams strikers' would probably say he did it to everyone. Is that true? I don't know. I don't watch Dundee play other teams. So I'm not sure how that constitutes being "all over the place".

And just for the record, it doesn't bother me that he is a coach here. I was saying why I think there are some that aren't particularly happy with the appointment and that it wasn't to do with him not being able to coach.
