What was the game plan today ?

we dont normally play as fast a tempo as that

just felt after 15m or so that either we start shooting from outside the box or we slow the tempo down to draw them out !

we were forcing them to park the bus i thought and that suited them

 

I think we had to start fast to get a goal tbh and we need to do that in most of these away games as if teams camp they are happy.

It looked to me like we wanted to kill the game early so we could maybe rest players? Christie, Mcgregor, Forrest and Elhamed all looked really leggy today and it affected us badly

 

I'm boring myself moaning about these shitehawk plastic pitches, but it is a huge factor.

Therefore the game plan is just win. Score one more goal than the other *.

 

This, those * bouncy carpets need gone like yesterday.

 

Saw a lot of people complaining about today's performance but Im sick of people who just can't grasp that you're not going to win every game with perfect one/two touch passing, with everything coming off. Just need to win the game any way possible, and if it means grinding out a 1-0 away to Hamilton on a * pitch then so be it.

Actually thought some of the first half play was excellent, regardless of how negative a team Hamilton are. The social media pages are brutal, I try to avoid them tbh but seeing stupid comments like 'Absolute *' and 'garbage' on the official site just after winning our opening 5 games riles me lol. Need to delete Facebook again, or just avoid our own official channels, which would be ridiculous.

 

I don't tend to watch games outwith Celtic but watched Fiorentina v Juve afterwards.

I had your post in the match thread in my mind and it actually looked a bit like that in this game, maybe just the Italian way? I'm talking Fiorentina here. But it was quite patient and not very fast paced at all until they reached the final third of the pitch. It did draw the Juventus players out and there was FAR more space than we saw Hamilton give up. Finished 0-0 but they had about 10 really good chances to score.

Thing is though, over here, if we did that, would Hamilton press? Or still just sit in and let us have it? The fallout from that would be us just passing it about and fans would get annoyed

they'd come out, look at the second half when it seemed we were tired or deflated, hamilton came up the park a bit

now im not saying i want us to play like we did 2nd half as that didnt look like an instruction from lenny to drop back and allow hamilton out that just looked like we had put so much pace into the first half that our energy levels had dropped, its some thing ive seen happening away from home and at home occasionally when we hammer away at parked bus teams we get frustrated and lose interest almost and we see 1st half dominance and 2nd half rubbish

we have superb players and 9 times out of 10 well win these games but it must be a chore and pain in the * trying to thread the ball through the eye of a needle were good very good but were not barcelona with xavi, inniesta and messi

maybe its the plastic pitch maybe we can only play decent when we play fast paced on it

Nearly every time we come back from an international break it's the same, takes us a couple of games to back up to speed.
Although the obviously worrying thing is, we don't have the luxury of another game, before playing Rennes.

I just hope the performance today has no bearing going into thursday and Lenny's got something good up his sleeve.
5 days is a long time in football, so hopefully the guys will get a chance to recharge their batteries, mentally to.

 

tried to walk the ball into the net while they parked the bus, no midfielder confident enough to strike the ball outside the box yesterday, however 3 points is all that matters right now . Hamilton don't add anything to the league apart from a * park and parking the bus, their manager and his bench laughing throughout the match while getting beat 1-0, joke of a club.

 

We not counting the shots we took outside the box then?

I know we got the 3 points and that is the important thing at the end of the day but do we really need to start our best available 11 against micky mouse sides? I would have expected either CMcG or RC to be rested after internationals.

When our best 11 havent played a game together as a team then it makes sense right before our first Group game..
