Not really surprising since one of the directors of the first went his own way.

It was obvious as * how old Keanu was in this one as well. The fight scenes were so * stiff man.

    Psycho

First time watching it. Great film, obviously. Anthony Perkins is fantastic as Norman Bates. Surprised how well it's aged to be honest.

    Apostle

Guy travels to a remote island off Wales to rescue his sister who has been kidnapped by a cult. Clearly some Wicker Man comparisons to be made. The first hour or so is pretty slow and forgettable but the second half of the film is much better. Decent overall.

Just stay well clear of the Gus Van Sant remake from the 90's. Abominable. :99:

FWIW, most of Hitchcock's works still stand up. Rear Window, Vertigo, North By Northwest, The Man Who Knew Too Much et al.

    The Ritual

Another horror that's well worth a watch. Group of friends go hiking in Sweden and end up in a forest being stalked by a supernatural creature. Very tense throughout and thankfully it only teases what the creature is until later in the film.

Bit late to the party, but eventually watched Burn After Reading. Really liked it.

Typical Cohen brothers drollness, and a stellar cast. 8/10.

Was everything I hoped The Dead Don't Die might be (but wasn't!).

    * me!! 20 years. I remember buying the books when first released. Think they came out in a series of six different books.

Zombieland. Very enjoyable. 7/10. Might go and check out the 2nd one when it's out. Harrelson superb as usual.

Do not get why Lady Gaga wears so much makeup - loads better looking without as much.

    Big Trouble in Little China

Started off so well then just dragged on a bit. Turn your brain off entertainment for parts, what the * is the story meant to be at other parts. Big John Carpenter fan when it's horror, but his non-horror stuff that I've seen has been pretty average.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

Again, it's on for too long imo. Could be 30 mins shorter. But it's definitely a good sci-fi/horror. Interesting plot and builds in tension.

    Let the Right One In

I'd watched the US remake years ago before ever seeing the original. Enjoyed the remake but this one is definitely superior. Such a unique story and setting. Definitely more of a love/coming of age story than a vampire story, which is a positive. The actors are great and the soundtrack is incredible.
