Not thrilled with the line-up. Bitton at CB is *-poor when we've had months to source proper replacements for Boyata and Benkovic, and Elhamed feels like an unnecessary risk given he's apparently carrying a bad knock. I suspect we'll see Bauer at some point.

I wouldn't have started MJ. Nothing to do with him as a player (I think he's excellent), but as I said yesterday on here I wanted us to pack the midfield and make sure we won that battle. Given they're playing Arfield and Aribo 'wide', it'll effectively be 5 v 3 and possibly even 5 v 2 at times if Christie gets too far forward. Either way, they'll outnumber us in the middle so we'll have to be very sharp and very organised to win the game.

PS Kris Commons just called Ryan Jack a 'sensational' player and a 'complete midfielder'. * me.

 

Right.
We are the better team, we know this. Results show this. Early season form shows this.

But this game is different and they will treat it as their biggest game.
They will come at us, they will press high and fast. They will look to force the play to our left and force Boli in to a mistake.

We need to be aware of this.
If we are, if we help each other. If we cover the gaps and stop passing the ball for the sake of it, if we pass with conviction and get the foot on the ball, we win.

It's all they have to try and beat us, is to press high and hope we make the mistake. It isn't about them being better, they won't try and play against us, they will just force the mistakes.
