I am sure one or two posted on here that they didn't get the hype..... Saying that, if anyone from another country asks me about McGregor, I'll be totally upfront and tell them that he is gash, one of the worst players that we've ever had.

Can't argue with that but we would have to ask the fans from Norway what are we comparing Melling too? If its tierney then yes he is nowhere near that level. How would these fans rate him against the likes of Taylor or bolingoli? They are the alternatives as things stand

Slightly different these lads aren’t Rosenborg fans and they’re saying he’s average they’ve seen more of him than most of us

So why’s the only other offer from the MLS supposedly. He’s played in Europe for seasons no one shown an interest in him? Is he better than Taylor have we seen enough of Taylor to judge him he’s been on Kilmarnock sides that have beat us recently more than Meling has.

Yeah, I'm not disputing that, I've read it myself whether it was on here or on twitter, I should have put a laughing smiley at the end.

We have a habit of buying players that play well against up, unfortunately, it doesn't always work out.

I remember Melling against us and he did look good, played really well , maybe our style of play just suited him. :39: or maybe he will be good... Who knows.

I am never ITK but did get some info on Melling last night. My father in law is very friendly with a guy who works for Celtic and he says he has it on good authority Melling will sign tomorrow if Rosenborg fail to qualify tonight. He is the preferred option.

That's the risk we take on potential though. If the likes of the redbull teams (for example) wanted him he would probably fall out of our price range. In value and wages. Am not saying their isn't a element of risk but given he has impressed everytime we come up against him means we got a rough idea of what we are buying. Where you left impressed by him when we played Rosenberg?

Scandinavians and Celtic go together like bread and butter. They adapt perfectly into our ways and usually always improve (for the most). Get this done Celtic.

I remember getting a feeling he was going to score against us when we played them, and he did.

Impressed perhaps but our back four can make average players look like * messi

Not just about his ability going forward. He was also tasked with coming up against Forrest. One of better players. It was a tough duel of memory serves me right.

And if we are comparing to how Melling looks against us in CL and EL then how does that compare to Taylor against connahs quay?

I go back to my original point. If given the choice i would opt for Melling

You can look at my previous posts to see I dont often hand out plaudits ......

I remember this boy playing against us and thinking he was a good player and if we didn't have Tierney he would do a job for us.

    Hope we get him in

My recollection, and it's very vague, was that the Welsh side scored a couple of easy goals due to the CBs and keeper. Had nothing to do with the full backs... can't blame every player on a pitch if others * up

Edit: for the record, I think I'd prefer Melling too, just not prepared to write off Taylor on a bad display from the team

Neither am I mate. Am sure Taylor was one of the better performers. I guess it reinforces counter point to Scotty. If he is saying Melling is a lesser player than Taylor because he played good against our back line. Where does that leave Taylor being a better player against connahs quay

That sounds very plausible and I certainly hope it turns out to be the case and Melling is a Celtic player in the next few days. Sure I am basing my opinion on how he played against us last season but that was 4 games. It would be one thing for a player to have a good day against us maybe once maybe twice but 4 times seems a stretch to me that he managed to just have an unusually good day against us 4 times! Not saying he is as good as Tierney of course he is not but he looks a good player and at 24 there is still plenty of room for him to grow as well.

We definitely need a left back with experience.
I wouldn't mind Taylor, but Meling has proven experience in Europe at a good level :celt_2:
