Problem is he is not even giving us that good defensive cover anymore, too many times now he is being caught flat footed and chasing, he used to be able to stroll it, be in the right place right time always. It happens when players age he needs to be playing less to keep him from burning out, there is no way he can play 40 full games this season.

Dropping Brown shouldn’t be out of the question. It a weird kinda quirk of football that there is some sort of shame around admitting when your time is coming to an end and you’re not a first team pick anymore.

It would be interesting if someone like Wanyama was brought in whether we would drop Brown or drop the like of Christie, McGregor or similar just to keep Brown in the team.

Doesn’t need dropped, needs phased out. Need someone coming in and learning from him, splitting game time with him.

Either injured or his legs are gone, once Rogic is back and give Eboue some game time he should be used sparingly.

Sadly doesn't deserve to be in our best starting midfield now

Broony has plenty of credit in the bank, but were he to continue to cost us goals then Lenny would have to make a decision.

Way to early to be calling that from last season's performance to 3 games in ,and qualifiers ,suffering from many changes and covering ground that players are not always in position ,still anchoring our defence to mid and building play well ,agree he needs rested more and should only play 1 oer week unless it's a big game .

Can understand him playing away to Motherwell as things can be a bit naughty at Fir Pk, but home games vs StJ and Hearts, he certainly doesn't need to start.....

Brown should be brought on late on to manage games, not starting the majority of games. He still has a part to play, but he looks in decline, which is hardly surprising at his age and the fact he played a whole season injured

Yeah, so that's twice in the last two games I've visually noticed there's an obvious decline in Brown.

That's not to say he's "done" or anything, but he's definitely on the road out. Needs managed properly, and needs a replacement sussed out this season.

Shame like, but it's natural. Let's hope we can squeeze every ounce of fitba that Broony STILL has left in his system, so hopefully he can retire after next season.

    Still a legend :shamrock:

@Fiferbhoy1991 That's the wrong way round? He's more able to influence a game starting and getting rested once we're comfortable? He's not the kind of player to change a game if we're getting beat?

I think the big question is do we look for a replacement or do we look to change our style making it easier to find a player for the new role? We're never finding a player like Broony, he's such a massive personality and does an almost thankless task.

Not change a game but maybe to see a game out.

    Hes nearing the end imo.

I think his age is going against him. A few bad games and people are saying he is done.
If he is the still the fittest in the team, as some have suggested, then it kills the notion that he no longer has the legs.

I think we do need so sign someone to compete with brown, but i also think that brown will refind his form.

I would bring him on to manage games, like last years League Cup final, not to chase a game. Leading with 20 mins or so left, bring on Broon to settle things and see the game out

It's not his fitness. He's lost a yard of pace.
