Might not sound like I'm being positive here, but sometimes he actually looks like a footballer and not someone who's won a charity raffle to get a game.
Obviously got a way to go but he's not as bad as some folk make out.

After he set up Mikey’s chance in the first half he turned and smiled, like ahh * but I done good there, looked like a bit of confidence. And until the end of the first half (outwith the booking tbf) it looked like he was playing with a bit of confidence and he knew what he was capable of as a footballer.

Misplaced a pass just after half time and then looked like he was second guessing himself at every turn again.

I think there is a player there but there is absolutely no way he can be our first choice just now, too fragile mentally.

Reminds me of Teemu Pukki Playing for us.

His touch is a war crime. Sooner hes benched for a proper left back the better.

Just know he'll be targeted like * next sunday if it comes to it.

Callum McGregors got a phenomenal first touch, we should try him there :fear:

Thought he looked brilliant (also might be a slight exaggeration there) first half, brutal second half. Does that even out to reasonably well?

I'd say so. Think both halves are an exaggeration on your part though Dev. I don't think at any point he looked like Roy of the Rovers but equally I don't think he at any point looked like Roy Cropper.

Aye, both were to be fair. First half he started shaky, then he linked up well and when he set up Mikey it looked like it’d clicked for him and he got some belief in his ability, whereas before he looked like he was second guessing what he was doing.

2nd half just after the goal he * up an easy header/clearance and looked like he went back to second guessing.

Said this earlier in the thread, but he’s reminding of Pukki’s mentality with us just now. It looks like he can do something good... But he’s not sure that he can actually do it. Needs somebody as first choice infront of him, and him to challenge for his place with no pressure I think.

Really good going forward like his involvement for the first goal tonight. I've enjoyed a lot of his direct passing thus far in matches right into the feet of the front men.

Has his defensive woes of course also.

He’s just not good enough, we need a new LB in pronto.

The fact when he does a couple of decent things in a game, wish is less than what’s required for a pro, people rant and rave how good he is! Especially Lennon you just knew he would come and say he was great tryna make it not look like a * up of a £3m signing.

Was ok, someone needs to remind him it’s football not rugby after that tackle last night.

We need a starting left back cause I can’t trust him not to * it up.

If he was perfect hed be playing at barca etc. Its up to us to develop him into a cracking LB. I can see enough potential there to give him the spot this season.

His * collapses whenever he’s under pressure on the ball in our half, several times he smashed passes at McGregor like a hot potato, luckily McGregor bailed him out several times as did Jozo. His positioning is all over the place as well, ashame since he’s great going forward plus great pace & energy.

    He was far better tonight.

People aren’t being overly complimentary, we are just acknowledging the fact he’s improved and he will hopefully improve further.

He’s our player at the end of the day, we should be backing him.

Hate it when * are quick to get in someone’s back, sitting waiting for him to misplace a pass.

I particularly enjoyed, in the first half, when he harried them and kept pressing them and forced the * to pap it out for a throw-in.

Was pleasing to see the reaction of the fans who gave him a decent applause for it. I'm sure that sort of thing does him the world of good.

As a player out on the wing, support from the crowd a few feet away can go a long way

He was getting a lot of applause last night which was good. Only one “aw naw” moment and that was his back pass to the AIK player that Jozo cleared up.

Not to stereotype because he's black but you'd think he'd at least be athletic? He got absolutely ripped for pace of their right back and then had to rugby tackle the boy resulting in him getting booked. His first touch is abysmal. I've seen better passers at boys club level, why cant he play a 5 yard pass without firing it chest height? Honestly he's embarrassing and a 10 minute spell in the first half where he wasn't totally atrocious won't convince me otherwise.
