Tbh mate i don't think we could've signed anyone that would've been, problem is that Boli seems to struggle with the basics, for me he dosen't have a defenders instinct, his positional sense is all over the place and his passing is very sloppy.

Have to disagree mate, seems like all the "Lukaku" lads have plenty of self-confidence. Yer man Berlingo doesn't fall far from the family tree.

I like him for some reason, I really do, but he just reminds me of a Poundland Izaguirre at best.

Hate to say it, but defensively he looks abysmal so far and I think he'll get his * handed to him at Ibrox.

He needs some proper competition there, someone who can come in and be first choice and allow Boli to gel better. I think his confidence is pretty much zero, couple that with the fact his defending is sub par and it makes for a pretty bad player.

Puts in a shift and doesn't hide when things aren't working for him. I'm hoping with time and some defensive coaching he might find some positional sense to go with that. Ideally we get someone else in as soon as possible, that will take the pressure off and give him a chance to get over the rocky start and settle down a bit as I think he is still trying too hard to impress and it's backfiring for him.

He’s erratic. I do think he will come good though once he’s settled and is more familiar with team mates and his role.

He hasn’t put a well rounded performance together yet but doing fairly well in patches.

Not sure he’s a natural LB, more suited to a 3/5/2 or 3/4/3 perhaps.

Seems like one of those guys you just want to do well, likeable type.
Unfortunately this game ain't about hoping someone is gonna come good...we need a left back pronto.

To be fair mate, Boli's touch compared to Oli's touch makes him look like the Black Xavi.

    He isn't a defender..

He's a wing back/winger we're trying to convert to left back..

That's why we've got to have some degree of patience. Problem is it's hard because our big game's come so early, we've just sold a tremendous left back and have no backup. He doesn't and won't get the time, unless a proper left back comes in..

Feel bad for him and you can see he's always out there showing....but it definitely isn't happening for him..

I wouldn't play him at Ibrox, I'd say he'd get sent off. Some of the timing of his challenges and his awareness of surroundings is frightening, and not in a good way. Hopefully he can settle and start putting in some defensive shifts, but if not, I wouldn't be averse to putting him out on the wing.

If he could play football he'd be immense.

Unfortunately his athleticism heavily outweighs his technical ability and he looks nervous. Both those things can be worked on though so need to give the guy some time.

It's awkward cause if a new LB comes in and we drop him surely his confidence will be non-existent?

Actually thought the was pretty decent today. Still some loose passes, and poor touches. He shows for the ball again and again and again though, never hides. I’m not 100% convinced by him by any means, but felt he was better today than he has been previously. I would start the same back 4 at the weekend, the return leg and then again vs the huns, barring any disasters along the way.

This guy will not come good as a left back. He has absolutely no positional sense. He hit two crosses tonight that I actually couldn't believe just how much he overhit them.

He does numerous comical things on the pitch any time he plays and always looks like he's in danger of getting sent off.

But he passed the ball to Forrest so all is rosy. We need a new left back.

No chance for me mate, was trying to hang it up at the back post for him to attack. I might be being generous here, but that’s the way I seen it.
