Great to see him getting a positive result tonight. Still room for improvement right enough and hopefully Forster is the first of a few new faces before the deadline.

Well what do you know? The guy who proved he was tactically astute in his first stint as manager is still tactically astute.

One poor result was never going to change that.

I think he is the best coach we've seen at Celtic in my time watching us (and that's high praise, because I really rate some of our managers in that respect); but for me, he's not a great manager. Or rather, he is for a season or a season and a half until his bullshit catches up with him. Being a great manager requires more than knowledge, skill and ability (which he has in incredible abundance); it also requires that your players trust you and want to run through brick walls for you. I can't see him ever being a great manager unless he stops the lies and the bullshit. I doubt he ever will.

Tactically he knew his onions, but never really seemed that interested in the genuine art of defending as a team. I think that with his intelligence and understanding of the game, he could remedy that weakness if he wasn't so conceited. So again, that comes back to his character too.

I genuinely wouldn't take him back.

It was a good win and I'm not trying to take away from it.

But there was nothing tonight that required astute tactics.

We played well and got what we deserved. Hopefully see it out next week.

Have to agree, they where worse than the mob who put 4 past us last week.

Maybe Lennon learnt not to play one of our best midfielders at left back after all.

Let's not bullshit, he got it badly wrong last week; but folk seemed to forget all the many times he got it so, so right in his first spell and there is a tendency in Scotland to try to explain away his genuine triumphs which sometimes (like last week) seeps onto here.

People also listened to his interview and got annoyed because lessons hadn't been learned; yet anyone who has payed attention knows that Lenny is a fiercely intelligent man who (if anything) is a bit too hard on himself. I never had any doubts that he would learn from it and avoid the same mistakes.

    Ah ok they were *.

That's how it's going to be this season.

Lose its the end of the world. Win and it's so we * should.

Man I can't wait for that.

If you give him credit for tonight(which he deserves)then surely he deserves the criticism when he gets it wrong?

One good result does not mean anything the same way one bad result means nothing, however as i said the manager has to take the good with the bad .

Aye, that'll be the same managger who was constantly questioned over his tactical "astuteness" in his first stint also....

Good result tonight, no taking away from that, but it hardly makes up for last week's debacle...

It's not just one good result though is it?

We scored 12 goals in our first two league matches.

The only "one" was the one result last week which was a * show granted.

People went way over the * top though and that is undeniable.

I'm going to milk this * for all it's worth.

Great result tonight. 2 or 3 new signings in the next week. EL groups and a couple of spankings for the loyalist cousins.

If that happens then you miserable * ain't seen nothing yet.

We can't compare any future manager with Rodgers, that was pure serendipity. I'm still not convinced he didn't jump because this record made him nervous. Folk then expecting us to sign another world class manager in our financial position were laying too much at Lenny's door.

He's far from inscrutable but at least he's taken on a task very few would dare.

I can't help looking at Desmond and wondering if he can make such magnificent things happen why not all the time and why is he not being asked that question?

It's not even a case of not wanting to give Lennon credit. Come on. That's just looking for an argument.

Tonight, he picked his best XI. The bare minimum you'd expect. At no point did he have to change it up tactically to stem a flow of their attacks etc, because they never changed their approach for 90 mins. Did he get it right? Yes. Was it a tactically astute performance? No, because it never needed to be one.

Next week in the away leg is the time for astute tactics.

To reduce us crashing out of the Champions League to "one poor result" is pretty silly. Our support absolutely had a right to be infuriated with the state of the club over the past few weeks/months. Lennon set up the team well tonight and that cannot be denied, and I'm happy to see it, but not sure why you find this "I told you so" discourse useful just because we won the first leg against an average team tonight..? There are still glaring holes in the team and lots of work to be done from both Lennon as a manager and our defense getting more familiar with eachother.

    Not really.

We received £9m compensation for Rodgers and his management team.

Then offered Lennon the interim job, then the full time position in the showers....

    I wouldn't be resting anybody.

Infact I would be keeping the same together for as long as possible.

Ajer was fantastic at RB tonight.
