In his career he's conceded less than a goal a game, not many keepers can say that also 172 Clean Sheets in 377 games.

It's still important for Europe, especially away. Don't want a goalie who gives it away every time it goes back to him. But he's better than Forster and no worse than Bain's Cluj disaster, plus a better actual GK imo. I'm in favour.

Goalkeepers one place that I don’t want promising. I want the finished article - mistakes will be made from promising young keepers, it’s just the game.

It’s no co-incidence that the best form we’ve ever had in Europe, we had two keepers at the top of their games that could make the difference.

Saying that, it took Forster two years or so to build up to that, so maybe you have a point.

Yes, he does. Just not to the extent that Brendan did. Lenny’s more play out from the back unless it’s inviting pressure on us and we’re making problems for ourselves.

Best we can get IMO in a short period of time.

Certainly an upgrade on Bain and Gordon.

    Time to get others in.

Good point about Woods. Hes done a great job with the goalies over the years, he could get Big Fraz back on top form.

    He'll do nicely.
Hopefully the first of a few signings.

Once he gets back playing and finds his confidence he will be a quality keeper again.

Just a shame Lennon doesn’t give players games to build match fitness because the aren’t match fit.

I’m one of those ‘never go back’ sorts whether it’s player or manager ... if you’ve moved in then that’s it!

This one however... I’d make an exception! Not overly excited but he IS proven and can hopefully be up to speed ASAP. He’s still only 31 and just because he’s been sidelined down south doesn’t mean he’s not capable any more. You don’t stop being a class keeper overnight.

Hopefully the big monster will fill that goal like he used to.

Let’s hope he has a solid defence in front of him to help.

I think he'll be a busy bhoy with our defence in front of him!

Good short term stop gap and nothing else.

This sets the standard of the 3 or 4 Lennon wants......

I'm not happy that we're just loaning him. Should be a straight purchase at a cheap price, if Southampton don't rate him.

It’s not necessarily short term. If he’s successful hear I imagine there’s a decent chance we could buy him, and he’s still reasonable young for a goalkeeper. No reason he’s not still got 4/5 years in him.

Apparently on a long term contract of 50 odd a week..

    I'd say that's very unlikely..
