Should be a couple of cracking semi-finals on the cards.

There is absolutely no reason we shouldn’t be going for another treble this year. Easiest draw we could’ve got and then a semi at Hampden which is a notoriously good stadium for us.

An away game against the Huns, Hearts or Hibs could’ve been dodgy. There is absolutely no banana skins for us in the League Cup from now on in. Winning the first cup is crucial for us mentally.

CELTIC will play host to Partick Thistle in the quarter-final of the Betfred Cup following today’s draw. The cup holders, who are looking to win the trophy for the fourth successive year, booked their place in the last eight with a 2-1 extra-time win over Dunfermline Athletic at Paradise on Saturday.

Mikey Johnston opening the scoring for Neil Lennon's side early in the second half, and after that was cancelled out, James Forrest scored the winner in extra-time.

Partick Thistle, meanwhile, knocked out Premiership side, Ross County, beating them 3-2 after extra time.

The tie is scheduled for midweek of September 24-26. Fixture confirmation to follow.

HIBS and Celtic could be set for a tea-time Betfred Cup semi-final on Saturday, November 2.

And Rangers are likely to face Hearts at Hampden the following afternoon.

SunSport understands that’s the probable outcome after talks between the clubs, SPFL chiefs, BT Sport and police today.

If agreed, the Hibs v Celtic semi-final would likely kick off after 5pm, with Rangers v Hearts scheduled for a mid-afternoon start.

An announcement is expected in the coming days.

Holders Celts swept into the last four by thrashing Partick Thistle while Gers beat Livingston.

Hearts and Hibs needed penalties to beat Aberdeen and Kilmarnock respectively.
