Lennon in May 2019 on transfer window plan:
    Didn't happen.

Lennon in July 2019, after the signing of Christopher Jullien
First bolded part STILL hasn't happened. Second bolded part: decided Jullien wasn't ready to play in a major European qualifier several weeks later where we went on to concede 4 goals at home and crash out of the CL.

Lennon in July 2019 on signing another RB (after the signing of El Hamed):
    Didn't happen.

Lennon in July 2019 after the first leg of the Nomme Kalju tie:
    Didn't happen.

Lennon in July 2019 on the "possibility" of Tierney leaving, and plan for that:
    Contingency plan not mentioned since.

Lennon in August 2019 on £25mil Tierney money:
    Nothing yet.

This all makes for poor reading. It reflects very poorly on the board, and even on Lennon. You have to wonder if he's furious at the lack of backing and snail-pace of improving the squad or, if as many feared, he's just lucky to have the job again and won't put up any fight.

Think that was always going to be the case. He wouldn't have been able to believe his luck when this opportunity came up. No chance he'll rock the boat.

Those quotes are just depressing. Been hitting out with the same * for months now.

I * love Lenny to pieces but the Celtic managers job just isn’t the same as it was a decade ago. It’s too big for him now imo. Which is the boards fault for bringing in the rat in the first place and raising expectations to a unrealistic level really.

Gutted it doesn’t seem like things will work out this time. My favourite time supporting Celtic, Larsson era aside, was Lennys first spell.

We’ll know for sure after the Huns at their shitehole.

Thing is mate he is saying we are going to do business and hasn’t mentioned names.

Now when you see it laid out like that it’s shocking. Add to that on Saturday after the cup game he said he hoped to have another one in before AiK which looks highly unlikely now

I didn’t say to play AiK he said he hoped to have a player in before we play AiK, even I wouldn’t assume that means they would play.

If Lennon was still in hibs job when rat left we wouldn’t have paid anything for him was all just ideal timing for Lennon and more to the point the board there is no recruitment all the scouts watching clips on YouTube of the players we’ve been singing?? Should be going around all the leagues that’s in same boat as us and taking the best players from the teams people that already have that winning mentality instead of trying to get premier League dross try our luck in countries like Sweden Norway Czech rebpublic Russia Portugal etc playing 1st team football for one of the big teams in there countries watch them over the course of the season seems to me is the fundamentals that are all * up no one else probably wanted the job was always going to be lennys cause the * up the stairs love to count the penny’s

    I'll defend them:

    1) He knew we needed players and said so. More than likely he was promised them, though I can't prove that. I don't doubt for one second that Lenny started working hard in identifying targets.

    2) Meanwhile Lawwell sat on the Congerton situation for three whole months, because he knew that he would force Leicester to pay us compensation and simultaneously avoid paying Congerton any compensation. The fact that we spent these three months with Congerton's hand-written crayon scribbles as our list of targets was apparently worth it in his eyes.

    3) Leicester finally blinked and Congerton * off in May. We brought Hammond in at the start of June July*, at which point our summer began in earnest.

    This is unforgivable.

    4) Lenny, faced with the choice between crying about being lied to and further deepening our crisis and lowering squad moral, did the grown-up, responsible thing and has tempered his public thoughts with more and more realism as the penny gradually dawns that he was lied to. For example, is it good management to publicly state the squad you have is not good enough with vital qualifiers every week? If he moans in the media, will Lawwell hop in a time machine and get Hammond in at the start of February, like he should have done?

    5) Lawwell, knowing full well he * up, sits back and lets Lenny take the bulk of the flak for him.

Our summer so far is indefensible; but Lenny's part in it is not.

    * thanks to @Blochairnbhoy for the correction.

He ought to put pressure on Lawwell if he is not helping build a team Lennon wants. By saying nothing that incriminates Lawwell, Lennon creates an image where he is to blame almost exclusively for any bad results. And this leads to the possibility of being 1-2 poor results away from a sacking.

Slavering gimmick and now Alex McLeish ffs.
Lenny is struggling but the man deserves more respect than this from his own fans.

The media are lying * so if anyone bullshits them they go up in my estimation. I don't need to be informed by the media who we are getting or when we are getting someone. I'm more concerned about the reality of buying players. I'm more worried about not signing anybody than hanging on every word from the media
