What people need to remember also when papers are saying the full Romanian league wage bill is £54m and Celtic is £60m the Celtic wage bill is every employee under the Celtic fc banner from Peter lawwell, to Neil Lennon, to the store staff, tour guides, cleaners and players, all back office admin staff.

The last part of that article is almost exactly what I said weeks ago and it's still so evidently true it's unreal.

We could not sign another player, lose to Dunfermline, get knocked out the Europa play-off game but win at Ibrox and people will forget all about August.

Been banging this drum over and over but people don’t realise how much Congerton’s absolutely raped our scouting.

McGowan’s laid that out more in numbers there.

There was a rumour recently that Lawwell wasn't happy with a McGowan column 2 or 3 week's ago and subsequently the name's dried up..

Lennon saying Hammond is having to fully restore and restructure the scouting network!

They were warned about Congerton he * up, Sunderland, Hamburg and Chelsea with his scouting * clown!

Think Leicester paid us £1m for that *!

I'd agree that the issue isn't what we spend, but how we spend it.

I feel like we have a suitable budget for a team competing at our level. We can pay more than the vast majority of the teams we compete against in he Champions League qualifiers, but we're shooting ourselves in the foot by - amongst other things - just not spending the money wisely enough.

It's clear that our forward planning is pretty much non-existent as we've struggled to replace key players in time for such crucial games. We'd have known for a long-time that we'd be going into these qualifiers without Boyata, Lustig and Tierney - and yet our back four the other night was Elhamed, Jozo, Ajer, McGregor.

We need a coach who focuses largely on coaching and preparing the team for games. Lennon should have a big say in what kind of players we go for etc, but we need a specialist who is in charge organising the scouting team and is also responsible for planning a couple of seasons ahead so we have a good idea of what positions we may need to recruit for. That way, when Tierney is injured for 6 months then sold, we're not stuck with a combination of Hayes, Izaguirre, Bolingoli and McGregor filling in at left-back.

After watching Celtics defending the other night I think they should bring back Johan Mjallby to coach the players how to defend in the box as they have been shocking at defending now for years.

I wonder when LC and Rodgers will stopped being blamed for this summer?

Lennon has been in since February stated himself that he was going to be assisting with player recruitment even if he wasn’t given the managers job permanently, yet nothing has been said about this? Bit mad no?

It’s been around 7 months now Lennon has been at the club, now in other threads posts have been made regarding scouting and information shared the way it is in the modern game with the internet, independent scouts, who work for a number of agents, clubs and even computer games to give analysis regarding there data.

How hard was it for the club to employe 3/4 people to go out and identify 4/5 players that we need with all the viable data that is available to clubs these days, internet, journalists, stats and data from their respective leagues, live games and even * forbid they have to actual go and watch them play.....

I mean 7 months, not 7 days or 7 hours even 7 weeks but 7 months.

I’m not saying it’s all down to Lennon but the board have to take the blame for this for not having this in place as well, every * and their dog knew about all the loans going back, plus Boyata going and all of the other players who where out of contract at the end of the summer.

I think our board need to carry the can for this shambles regarding recruitment, it’s not like they haven’t dragged their heels in the past and done it on the cheap.

Looks like he's going to look at Bitton, Morgan and Hayes and the likes instead of guys who haven't been given a chance.

Into the bargain his embarrassing £10m use of subs at the CL game what's the point of signing any *.

We have spent the guts of 14 million since christmas on players who the manager rightly and mostly wrongly has no intention of playing. How can you justify giving him more money to spend.

Who is making he signings though , 3 of the signings where made before Lawwell gave hammond the gig and 1 was in motion. Pedros time is up and lennons is up for debate also but right now I have no confidence in Pedro appointing a new manager and I’m sure others share this opinion.
At which point does DD step in we have just suffered a massive defeat mid week and nearly eliminated from the League cup. If that went to penalties It’s basically a 50/50 and Dunfermline would have likely won. Players seem to have no confidence at the moment and I don’t understand why something is clearly happened behind the scenes. Everything looked fine (on the park) the early UCL Qualifiers and the opening League Games.
So what has exactly happened is anyone’s guess tbh did it occur just before the cluj game or has it begun after

Blaming Rodgers for our terrible transfer window is something I entirely disagree with. We'd have another terrible one no matter what, we despise spending money and openly complain constantly about transfer windows. More than any other club I've seen.

    Nah not buying it.

Lennon, Hammond, Park etc must still be in contact. They must know agents aswell and we have this world renowned scouting IT system we can dip into at anytime to see analysis etc.

Lennon has went and watched 2 players specifically in the last few month, 1 went to Brest and the other is off to Lazio.

1 a Cb and Other a left back.

Our scouting overhaul should start with punting the guy who watched Boli and thought, 'there's the defender we need'.

BR and his mickey mouse scout left us in a position this summer where 6 players all left or finished their loans or contracts in one window from our back line.
That would be * hard to scout and replace for any team never mind celtic who are world class in dragging their feet in signings.
Then the fact we sold KT its no wonder we are a mess just now at the back.

    Wullie,

Lennon has been having recruitment meetings since March according to himself.

He has identified targets in Perraud, Pavlovic and Harper as well as Turnbull and he has went to view them all personally and Turnbull aside we have failed to sign any of them!

He has lost 13 players of that 7 regularly contributed to the first team and we have replaced them with 3 and Lennon still
Maintains more need moved on before he can sign anyone.
