Good to hear we’re still in the market.

Not sure we need an attacking midfielder though - would prefer a defensive one.

Christie, Rogic, Hendo and Ntcham all capable in 10.

Could be something in that. Remember that time he, ach doesn’t matter. There is potential in comedy for this snap of Lawell with the sheiks. Has to be a few funny one liners that accompany this picture. I’ll start first.
Sheik: The nice disco lights was the clincher in this thing.
Sheik 1: mmmmm dunno but don’t like them.
Pete: did that * say £500m?

Neil Lennon insists a new goalkeeper isn't on his signing agenda this summer.

The Celtic boss confirmed Scott Bain has suffered a dislocated thumb as the Hoops' No.1 gets set for a spell on the sidelines.

The injury comes after the Scotland international conceded four goals in Wednesday's Champions League nightmare against Cluj and will now miss game time.

And Lennon is hopeful the injury shouldn't keep the keeper out for the long-term.

The Hoops boss said: "He dislocated his thumb.

"He's had a scan and we don't think he needs surgery. He is going to get a splint fitted and he should hopefully be back in training next week.

"We will assess it and get a fair idea of the extent of the damage and we will make a decision from there

With Craig Gordon set to step in for Saturday's Betfred Cup clash with Dunfermline, Lennon insisted he was not already looking at strengthening in the position before Bain's injury after his side were linked with a return move for Fraser Forster.

He added: "No, I had two good goalkeepers in the building.

"Craig is ready to play and he will start tomorrow."

Lennon is still looking for defensive reinforcements following Tuesday's Champions League defeat by Cluj.

He added: "We are working diligently in the background to bring players in and increase the quality and competition and strength in depth of the squad.

"The board have been absolutely top class with me.

People are looking for divisions and destabilising. It's not there. We have to accept we lost the game, whether we deserved to lose it or not, we have to accept it and come back better."

The Celtic boss does not think the qualifying loss and knock-on financial effects will impact on his final dealings of the transfer window.

    I don't think so.

We will still look to find players of value, quality and maybe re-saleable value as well."

    Fingers crossed.

Can’t see us making any moves until we know if we’re in the EL though.

Sorry Neil, but we did that last summer. We lost the game and 'accepted it'. We never came back stronger. We never strengthened after the defeat last summer, we never strengthened in January and we didn't strengthen this window. We actually got weaker.

That one ain't going to wash, it may not have been his side a year ago, but this board was very much aware of it.

What I get from that statement of “it won’t impact any signing” is

The quality of player we were looking at isn’t really champions league quality anyway.

If the board were serious about us raising the quality of the squad they would have gone things done before now. Trying to get to CL group stages on the cheap every season is beyond ridiculous. 2 weeks to the window closes and no movement on players coming in, the board are quite happy to sit back and let the rumours of this player and that player being linked to us to dominate the media headlines when in reality Lawell is looking to make money selling quality but bringing in mediocre players. If you spent the money bringing in quality before the qualifiers, give time for the players to gel, its not guaranteed but increases your chances of qualifying. Then you get your money back earning the £35m CL money pot. Then the next season you have a settled quality side already up and running for the CL qualifying rounds with no need to spend the money you did the season before. Its a concept that Lawell and this board cant grasp. Speculate to accumulate, but Lawell is happy to take a bigger bonus than the money that will be spent on the rb he prob wants to sign.

We're gonna end up with Taylor and O'Donnell and that'll be it. How much we've downsized in a 3 month period is * frightening
