I think we need a goalie.

 

I would give him the benefit of the doubt for now, every goalie has a sticky period at some stage and for me he has been tremendous since coming in.

 

He looks a nervous wreck at the minute... mind you what goalie wouldn't be with our defence in front of you. This season is going to be a riot

 

I'm the minority here but I didn't think he did a whole lot wrong, that save was an awkward as * shot and Elhamed should have been following in too

The opener at Motherwell was worse

I'm happy sticking by him for now though

SCOTT Bain is set to miss only one game for Celtic despite fears a hand injury could sideline him for months.

The goalkeeper was in a lot of pain after the FC Cluj game and since then has had two scans on his hand, which had been bothering him for a while, and they showed the damage was not as serious as first thought.

NEIL LENNON has been rocked by an injury to Scott Bain that could rule him out for up to TWO months.

The Celtic boss is now in the market for a goalkeeper as cover after Bain picked up a hand problem.


Bain played 90 minutes of the crushing Champions League defeat against CFR Cluj this week but the injury has emerged since.

Lennon will be forced into a change against Dunfermline at the weekend and has Craig Gordon as back-up.


Gordon has been on the bench this season with Bain, 27, starting all but one game for the Scottish champions.

Lennon also has youngster Conor Hazard in his squad but is in the market for experienced cover, with Bain’s injury expected to see him sidelined for eight weeks of the campaign.

Craig Gordon is likely to face Dunfermline on Saturday in the Betfred Cup, a move which may have happened anyway as Neil Lennon has been looking for an excuse to play his more experienced keeper.


There is even a suggestion that Bain could be fit for the weekend but probably won't be risked against the Championship side at Celtic Park.

Bain did not have his best game in Tuesday's defeat but has been superb since breaking into the Celtic team in January and has impressed Lennon.

However, the manager said two weeks ago that the position of first choice goalkeeper was still up for grabs.

 

He has to get that either out for a corner or away to safety. I'm still no sure what he was doing for the corner which lead to their penalty either. He had the ball in both hands and seemed to drop it when the Cluj player lifted his foot and it went out for the corner. Neither him nor Gordon are good enough. We need to bring in a top keeper. I'd be happy with Bain as a backup.
