Doesn't the transfer process work like this: bid accepted--->player contract agreement----->medical?

I don’t know or care who their captain is, never mind what he done, but this EPL mentality of ‘banter’ clubs is just so childish and everything wrong with the modern football fan.

I used to love this game once, properly adored it and felt part of it. Now it depresses me.

What a load of nonsense. Am as heart broken as the next Celtic fan. And yes if I was a product of the youth academy yes I would retire a Celtic player. But he isn't anywhere near the same bracket as Rodgers. Tierney hasn't been forcing a move. Tierney would happily stay if it panned out that way. But we accepted a offerr for him. When your employer says their evaluation of you has been met you are perfectly entitled to go have a look. Especially during the transfer window. Especially after being a big part of a historic treble treble. Rodgers left at unacceptable time and at a time where the job hasn't been completed.

As I say comparing the two is utter nonsense.

Break my heart to see you go KT but you go with all the best wishes for the future!!

Never be the legend he dreamed of being.

KT - a guy who had a couple of good seasons, nothing more, nothing less.

    Goodbye trophies
    Goodbye atmosphere
    Goodbye being adored
    Goodbye passion

    Hello money
    Hello modern football.

His injuries make this a deal that makes sense.

No, they don't. We should have gambled here. A dfensively solid LB is worth way more than money on a bank account.

It's a fair deal.. But aye the worry is always whether we will invest properly..

His injuries and lack of game time last season definitely make it more palatable tho.

    "So called" is the words.

Posters with a low thread number that have been visiting for years and only appear when we get beaten.

    Wouldn't worry about it....

So we're not allowed to feel aggrieved? He came off with all this pish he only dreamed of Celtic and bounced to an English team at the first time of asking he's gone so * him I only care about Celtic and celtic alone I'll not be "wishing him all the success with arsenal" or "looking out for his progress" go make your millions and don't come and take the megaphone again your no better than Rodgers

Record-breaker Kieran Tierney is on the brink of signing a stunning mega-bucks contract with Arsenal before the English deadline.

Celtic and the Premier League side finally agreed a £25million deal – a record transfer fee for a Scottish club.

It’s believed the Premiership champions are insisting on having a 10-per-cent sell-on clause inserted in Tierney’s contract.

This has proved a lucrative method in which Celtic have received further payments for players already sold, with the Parkhead giants landing an extra £7m when Virgil van Dijk left Southampton for Liverpool.

The money on offer for Tierney, meanwhile, is stratospheric. The left-back will sign a five-year deal, believed to be worth more than £70,000 a week.

He will undergo a medical today before being announced by Arsenal .

Let's not forget all the Dembele stuff where the club was actually trying to push him out of the club while publicly pretending that they wanted to keep him. Same for Sinclair. Its all about the board pushing players on big wages oot the club and brining in top fees for big players to keep shareholders happy. Tierney has most likely been asked by the board to leave and is doing what he believes works for the club and for himself. Lawell and co are capitalist animals who only want 10iar so that they can sell it for dvds

Should've been demanding Bielik (know he's just went to Derby) as part of the deal to at least soften the blow a bit.

Zero confidence in us bringing in a decent replacement at this point.

Deep down we all knew he was going. Best of luck to the guy. He will miss Celtic but I don't think he'll regret his decision. Sometimes you have to go with your head over your heart.

If we don't invest at least £15m of that between now and September something is seriously wrong.

If his injury clears he will walk the EPL.

I have no doubts at all about that.

It’s a sad day, however these things happen. It’s our business model, homegrown player or not.

There has been little hard feelings when VVD, Wanyama etc have moved on and there should be none with KT. It’s just the Scottish aspect and the fact he’s “one of us”, that’s clouding the judgement.

People are easy to say that they would stay at Celtic their whole careers, however we’re armchair fans - he’s a professional footballer and in this position.

I have no doubt the club have had a word as well - I don’t think Lawwell has sat by idly and said ‘forget that £25m mate , just stay for the 10.’
