Recently bought and played Origins, all my fears and the main reason I've put off buying Origins and Odyssey were realised. All I can say is bring back old AC, this typical bloated Ubisoft open world nonsense just doesn't work with AC, the mechanicics are great, the world was just * boring and the RPG elements (which I hear they doubled down on for Odyssey) are * in a game like AC. Why am I going to a camp and can't kill everyone because my level isn't high enough, I'm supposed to be an Assassin who * people up, that isn't very Assassin like. I hope they sort it out after the next Viking based one is released because AC has become every other Ubisoft open world game.

Really enjoying it so far. The locations are stunning and the story up to the point I’m at has been good.

There’s definitely more of an Assassin’s Creed feel about this than in Origins or Odyssey (never played that one but my mate did and feels that way).

If you liked those two you’ll like it, because it’s still a big open world RPG with camps to overrun, treasure to be looted and little random world event side quests things.

It's good. It's just pretty buggy but hopefully they'll be ironed out in time. Some screen tearing on the Series X they need to fix as well.

I think this will be the first AC game I won't be buying, I watched a review of it on YouTube and the reviewer said it was even more bloated and boring than Odyssey and the combat is absolute horse *. They need to start making them in one big city again instead of churning out these bog standard Witcher clones in generic open worlds.

Cheers mate, last AC I had was the first! Haha but after seeing this was Vikings and I’m a big fan of that genre it’s tempted me back! Especially lockdown too and having time to actually play it

Would definitely recommend the new Valhalla game. For me the gameplay and graphics are awesome and if hacking, assassinating, goring and slashing your way through hordes of knights with viking warriors at your side whilst sacking cathedrals is your thing you can go wrong.

I'll get the season pass too, as I always do.

hated valhalla. nice graphics and story as always, but i hate the cluttered level/power system and i felt that raid mode defeat the purpose of an assasins' games

i like odyssey more. i spent about 80hours there and enjoyed everybit of the game, while in valhalla i only got about 6-7 hours until i gave in to trainer to speed things up

Put a ridiculous number of hours into this and still got a fair chunk left I think.

It's nothing groundbreaking but just a very enjoyable and addictive game. Only fault I have with it are the glitches/crashes. It's crashed on me about 6 or 7 times now. Can't remember a game doing that before.

Last 6 or 7 Celtic games have been like that.

Anyone think it’s best to wait it out til they sort the glitches and patch it up? In no rush to get it right now as not got enough time to sit and play. but definitely want the game

The Shipyard glitch is the only one I have come across in 30 hours of playing so far mate. It i definitely worth getting, I though Origins was good but Valhalla blows it away. The one on one combat, assassination cut scenes, the rage cut scenes in the middle of battle, it is is tremendous !
