Often if a player has a fee they will receive from the selling club then they waived their right to that. But think it meant more 20 years ago. Now it means sell me or I do * all.

I am hoping the timing of his transfer request is a sign of him being persuaded by English clubs as there window shuts on Thursday. We can surely do better than mckenna ffs!!

 

Although I think he is a complete dumpling and I wouldn't want him near us, Aberdeen are quite right to be holding out for a big fee. Plenty players like him playing down South go for more than what Aberdeen are looking for.

He cannot defend. Every time I have watched him against us he has been embarrassing. He has also been embarrassing for Scotland and against diddy teams like Sevco and Hearts. He is * appalling.It is mental that teams are interested in him, it is mental that he gets picked for Scotland and I am not sure he is even good enough from Aberdeen. He is woeful at every aspect of the game of football, apart from being a big clogger.

 

Would anyone be up for McKenna coming in, if it meant Hendry went the other way?

In all seriousness, I'd take McKenna (for the right price) . He's clearly no fantastic but he doesn't make too many mistakes - that's a step up on Hendry straight away.

I'm harsh on McKenna, but that's stemmed from the demand of £10million last season, the fact he was our number one CB target and that we kept going in for him.

He clearly is not worth anywhere near what the sheep are demanding - and judging by the rejection of his transfer request it is because they do not want to sell at all (fair enough).


If we had Ajer, Julien, and if Simunovic was more consistant/loaned Benkovic again, then McKenna as a 4th choice at £2-3million tops would be okay.

 

I don't think he's the most cultured player I've ever seen but I think he's more than competent and regularly does what a defender is meant to do, he defends.

 

Only slight step up from hendry and not worth the money Aberdeen are looking for .

 

I would rather send Hendry there with £500k in his pocket keep both them away from Celtic!

 

Just to put it into context.

Aberdeen value this big dumpling at more than we paid for the best aerial duel winning centre back we paid £7m for a few weeks back!

£7m for him is up there with the £17m for McBurnie!

 

It would just be replacing * with *. It's dross like Hendry we need to be getting out the door, no doubt about it, but replacing him with McKenna would be pointless in my opinion, as neither of them are good enough.
