Is £25M an insult?

£25 million is nowhere near enough when you see that donkey Harry Maguire going for £80 million plus add ons.

So yes £25 million is definitely an insult when you consider the amount of money that gets flung around down there. Prices in the English market are so inflated and so often on average-poor players.

When Liverpool paid £75 million for Van Dijk a lot of people were surprised. We weren’t surprised however as we know how good he was.

You have to give Leicester a round of applause for receiving £80 million for Maguire. Unbelievable Man Utd won’t be getting back to where they were anytime soon with signings like that.

 

Aye n naw. Insult to his quality but the recent transfer records for quality in the league set the bar. It’s going up and hopefully it will continue.

Robertson, Virgil, KT, Dembele, all raise the cost of players related to Scotland.

We’re shifting from a club selling to mid table top leagues for good money to going direct to top tier teams in those leagues.

Sadly as a selling nation and club to the lands of milk and honey, it tough but it’s a necessary evil and progress in bringing in money and increasing that reputation.

There has been nothing from the Club. The £25 million is speculation. All Lennon has said is that they "have not met the Club's valuation."

 

If kt was with an english club the fee would be higer,at the same time i think if he was with someone like Kilmarock it would be lower.

Doesn't make much sense when its the same player but thats how the market operates.

As it is were been offered 25 mil and imo giving kt fitness issues thats a good price.
Hope im wrong but i think KT will struggle with his fitness for the rest of his career,that remains to be seen and its an unqualified opinion ,but as far as the valuation go,s i do think 25 mil is good.

 

How anyone can call a £25million bid an insult with the way we conduct our incoming business is ridiculous.

I dont think so exactly. We did it before but not recently.

We gave fair deals to the SPFL teams at our last bids: Hayes, Hendry, even Turnbull. When we tried to play the cheap * with McGinn it didnt work out.

I do agree it is a bigger issue for other SPFL clubs, they could have Messi coming in their squad and they would get 1 million bids from Leyton Orient. But english teams and sevco are much worse than us in trying to bully them into accepting derisory bids.

Unlike them, for which 1, 3 million is a lot of money, we are in the position to refuse undervalued offers.

If it is a insult we have insulted our self as we set the asking price.
I think its to low,but i see what celtic are doing,slowly increasing the asking price of our top players as english teams see player after player leave and actually prove to be worth more than what they have paid celtic for them.
The insult is a team * us about over the price while going out and spending 70 million on another player......they think celtic are pound stretchers.

Disrespect would be the key word here.

We’ve allegedly applied a £25m valuation to Tierney, and Arsenal are well within their rights to try and negotiate our asking price down. It would happen in any transfer deal, anywhere in the world.

There is nothing insulting going on, we just * up by setting the initial price too low.

 

25m is * scandalous. Daylight robbery for a guy with champions league and europa league experience and goals. Bearing in mind the successes of Van Dijk our players shouldn't be undervalued anymore!!! Get them tae *.
