Yes that old nasty chestnut. I get a bad back every so often luckily touch wood it only lasts for a few days at a time.
As I was about to go to bed last night all of a sudden my lower back ached,a horrible persistent dull plus pain which is annoying to say the least.
I did not get to sleep in any sort of force to about 4.30am if not later. The old try and get an imaginary position that will reduce the pain game taking place.
I am very sure plenty of you can relate heavily to this as for my back still * sore,oh well.

You're getting a bad back because you are bending over so much to touch your wood.

Try yoga and pilates. Or go to an osteopath. Try doing insanity( if you're reasonably fit) as that's a lot of core exercises which has helped mine.

Backs are *. Been laid up for weeks to wake up one morning cured by imaginary Mongolian monks. Half the time its picking up a towel or sneezing that does it. Actually done it last time trying to free my ball from the tight boxer leg :56: so if you ever find a cure I'm all ears.

Done my back in a few years ago,i was on the * at the time and started the usual morning coughing session and the muscles in my lower back went into spasm,it's a really frustrating pain as you can't get comfortable if your sitting, standing or lying and trying to get a sleep is nearly impossible.

    * my back for ages built up from heavy lifting/labouring etc..

Wasn't right for a couple year. Would lie on my front and it would hurt and wee sharp pains if I jumped up or that or was running could feel it proper in my lower spine..

Don't get it anything like that now. Maybe the odd bit now and again..

if you sleep on your back put a pillow below your thighs ,takes the pressure off your spine .
if you sleep on your side put a pillow between your knees

Bad back for 20+ years now. Only hurts when I’m in a straight position. The cure, stand with my lower back slightly bent, sleep curled up, sit lower down the chair so my backs curved and walk with my upper body slightly lent forward.

I can get lower back pain, can be bad when I’m standing in the one spot for ages as I’ve had bad posture and a bit of a banana back for a few years. I injured my pelvis playing football as a teen and think that might have triggered it.

Actually bought a posture brace a couple of weeks ago that I’ve been wearing for a few hours a day. Bit early to say whether it’s working or not, but I can get shoulder and neck pain quite bad and I haven’t since I’ve been using it.

When I'm on a good run of stone work with large stones my back can be *. Also when I'm badly hung over and don't leave the bed or couch for a day or two I then seize up. There's been times where I've lied down on the floor and couldn't move and if I managed to even slightly move, it's * agony! But once I'm up and stretch, move about then I'm fine. The bad side effects of working in construction. 11 more years of it and I'm out of it!
