Still getting my head round us being excited by a player from Huddersfield.

We definitely need another RB. Not sure this is it.

 

Would rather we stayed away from the English market unless there is some real cross-border bargin like Moussa.

 

Think it's 3/4/5 windows worth of built up desperation. I was buzzing with Toljan and defending him for weeks in hope he'd turn out like his youtube videos showed

We just need a competent, experienced defender that will allow Forrest to concentrate more on his own game esp in Europe without having to do the fullbacks running for him.

For me, link up and crossing ability are secondary now we just need somebody in asap

 

And Celtic are also locked in talks with Huddersfield Town over right back Smith – who the Terrors rate at £4m.

The Scottish champs hope to land the 27-year-old defender for around £3m but Stoke City are also sniffing despite being reluctant to go beyond £2.5m.

Smith jetted out to Austria with the Huddersfield squad for their pre-season training camp but the Championship side are willing to do business if the price is right.

Even tho i like the look of him, i hope we don't go over 3 million.

 

Has to be better out there for that fee.

 

If there's better European right backs out there, fine but if no, then we need to get this boy in pronto..

I'm no overly fussed about the fee. Is 4 mill slightly steep? Maybe. Do we desperately need a right back in now? Yes..

It's time to get a move on with some more deals and it seems we feel that way too with our activity just now..

 

Seems like we’re being forced into a corner here. We should have had Lustig replacement in long before now, 6 or 12 months ago actually. He seems like a safe bet but isn’t gonna set the world alight. Even if we buy him we desperately need to strengthen in that area. Having him play in the later stages of qualifying will be crucial. He was captain for a reason and we need that type level headed mentality to get us though the games. Seems a smart move for the short term, but in the long term only papering over the cracks

 

Disappointed not to have a rb in place by now. I'm sure tonight 11:30pm is the deadline for player registration for the 1st champs league qualifier. I have the fear thinking about ralston playing vs sarajevo, he's pish! This needs addressed asap. Get that * ntcham oot the door n spend his fee it on 2 rb's and we'll be looking strong

 

Considering we needed a right back for the past 2 years I was really expecting our first signing to be a quality right back but still nothing and Tommy Smith isn’t inspiring

 

Nope. As far as I understand we can register 2 by tomorrow night.

 

2 by 24 hours before the first leg it ain’t happening

 

I hope your right and 1 of them is a RB then mate

 

Oh... I'd be amazed if we get even 1 in

 

Even if we get somebody in, they wont be playing 24hrs later

 

Should have went all out for Stacey...

Would take Smith tho, you can see why they would want that kind of cash, difficult to replace.

 

Could play 2nd leg tho.

 

No idea if hes good, doesnt look anything special but either did Lustig and he was a great servant
