Same * not to get him but if Burnemouth wanted him there would have been no chance, young English guy from non Legue football would always move to the EPL.

Did we match the offer ?

I think the answer is no. So he never chose anyone over us.

We really should be paying the £4m for this boy in my opinion. The sell on value for him alone would be worth it. Think he is really going places. Would have liked to have seen us challenge Bouremouth. It's well documented we need 2 right backs and I thought this boy should have been the number 1 choice.

Hearing a few rumours Lenny flew to Copenhagen to look into a RB at Eric’s club called Joel Andersson could be * though

CELTIC target Jack Stacey could be set to move to AFC Bournemouth, according to reports.

The Hoops had targeted the right-back as a potential replacement for Mikael Lustig.

SunSport revealed yesterday that Luton Town had rejected a £2.5million offer from Eddie Howe’s side.

But the Daily Echo reports that the EPL side tabled an improved £4million offer which has been accepted by the Hatters.

Stacey will now discuss personal terms with the Cherries, who hope the deal can be completed before they fly-out to their pre-season training camp in La Manga on Wednesday.

Bournemouth would have got him anyway but £4m is far too much for a player with his experience and 1 year on his contract

In todays market it really isn't. Definitely a risk though wish is why I prefer that we shop abroad as so much more value for money. Don't get why we don't buy from eastern Europe more as there's so much talent there, and our winters are like summer for them so no issue there.

Need a RB in pronto. These qualifiers appear to be step up in quality from normal. Especially the early rounds anyway

In today's market 4m for the boy isn't out of order.

He's 23 and had couple of clubs looking at him. Ok he's only a year left on his contract and people will only base value on that. I'd like to base the value on him once he's signed. That way it's a true reflection of the asset we require.

We sign him on 4 year contract for example. So as a 23 year old English right back that had a smashing season in league 1, kept the other right back in the squad out of his natural position who's went to the EPL for 8m.

If after 1 season he had the below level of season with 3 years remaining on his contract with ourselves. This would be his market value

Great season nailed down first team spot 8-10m

Decent season and played most of the big games. 5-7m

Poor season and although tried in the big games didn't win first team regular at the position with whoever we brought in too. 2-3m

So in reality we aren't going to lose much in value with the player. So if we were actually serious about the player. We should have matched the offer and threw our hat in the ring

Love how some fans are saying, just pay the 4 million. Yes 4 million might be the going rate for an English League 1 player but we can get more for our money abroad.

Indeed he does, but he sounds like someone who has potential to be a great buy - young, European experience, already playing with international setup, typically not ridiculously expensive to buy from there and usually Scandinavian players adapt well in our league
