Not a hope we would get him back in my opinion.

The wages he is on is life-changing, especially given his background in Kenya.
I dont quite know why it hasnt happened for him at Spurs, he seems to be really out the fold now, but id expect him to stay in the premier league. Can definitely still do a job.

I think selling ntcham and tierney and even rogic in a space of a few weeks is gambling nine a row and a gamble too far as i dont think most of the money would be put back into the team and we dont know how the replacements would work out .

Nah they paid less than what West Ham did.

That’s what we recieved, not West Ham.

Don't think all 3 would go tbh, for me we could get away with selling Ntcham and even Rogic, but not CalMac, i base this on the contribution he makes to the team over the course of a season.

Bah... West Ham... Southampton... What's the difference?

Even ten years ago, I would never have said this, but English football has reached a point where there really isn't much difference between the two. You create a situation where identify and fan culture don''t really matter compared to the money you can get and you find (what a shock) that identity and fan culture do indeed start to matter less and less.

By buying into that value system, but not succeeding in breaking into that top group, they have become no mark, nothing clubs in the sense that there is literally nothing interesting or distinguishing about them.

I don't say that out of snobbery, I don't think they were nothing clubs 10 or 20 years ago.

Its obvious that they are all quality players on their day, but looking at things objectively, each of the players mentioned contributed last season in only a small part, although some contributions had big impact (ntchams goal vs rangers for example).

But we almost had to cope for large parts of the season without those players. And so id argue losing the quality would make us weaker as a squad but we wouldnt miss them if they couldnt stay fit? If that makes any kind of sense

I could stand corrected, i think his dad was a footballer but there is a pic of big vic and his brother mcdonald mariga playing for a team back home and it looked like sand/dirt/clay pitches.
Id read before he is 1 of 11 children and that he used to play barefoot.

Spurs dont play their players massive wages really in comparison to the rest of big premier sides.

In saying that hes probably on about £50-60k a week so would have to take a big cut regardless.

Would happily see us put a fair whack into getting him back right enough.
