    I expect Tierney to go, and I'd love to get both. I don't see it happening though. A lot has been made of Connell's versatility and I think he'll serve as backup to one of these guys.

    Just can't see us signing two guys who'll want to be first choice

    Happy but at the same time worried that i don’t believe Celtic would spend £3m on someone to be a backup. Hopefully it’s just to take the strain off of tierney and they can rotate, asking tierney to play 60 odd games every season is unreasonable.

    I think people are getting too hung up on the “back up” tag. KT played far too much football in the last few seasons. £3 million for someone who can take the pressure off him and possibly step right into the staring position if KT leaves this year, next year or the year after next. No brainer. Why penny pinch.

    I read one of his interviews and he did say he could play on the left hand side :50:

    He told Celtic TV: “I like to get on the ball and pass. But if a game gets scrappy, I can get stuck in.

    “I am left sided and play in midfield mostly, but I can fill in at left-back too.

    “I don’t mind where I play and some would say I am versatile.

    Irregardless of wether he is a long term back up or starter. It will be great to get him for the qualifiers. You'd easily forget in amongst the hysteria with KT at the moment he's still recovering from the injury and this hopefully means we won't need to rush him back again.

    I have never seen him play but he is highly rated by a lot of people. Looking forward to seen what he can do.
