It's difficult because of his hip problems but I'd be advising my boy to stick it at least another season getting back fit and hitting the ground running when the EPL time comes..

He could just as easily not get back fit, hip becomes a serious problem and not first choice for us anymore.

And the same people in here saying he isn’t a die hard or whatever would be the same ones moaning about him on his big contract ‘stealing’ a wage...

Aye, but it would definitely be a gamble to refuse a deal like that.. in footballing & financial terms.

I'd be majorly disappointed if he left before even attempting to get to 10.

For what it’s worth, if I was in KT’s shoes, I believe I would stay. I say ‘believe’ because nobody really knows until faced with the choice he’s likely facing.

He has the chance to accomplish the 10. Make no mistake though, it is only a chance. There are no guarantees in this game, the most romantic scenario is KT lifting the 10 alongside Brown (and staying here forever), but we could let things slip, injury could result in him missing long stretches of the next two years, poor performance (however unlikely) etc. It’s not a sure thing.

I think a fairly sizeable percentage of Celtic fans would stay, but I think almost everyone of us would have to ask ourselves a question in Tierney’s shoes. We’re his boyhood team, if we found ourselves in a more competitive environment he would be here for his career, I genuinely don’t doubt it for a second. Giving up the opportunity to test yourself at a higher level, fulfil your potential etc is a * of an ask of a young guy though.

It wouldn’t be an altogether crazy approach for KT to stay for two years, compete the 10, while signing a new deal this summer that makes him our highest earner and inserts a minimum fee release clause in his contract (hopefully more than £25m). He can have everything, but he would need to postpone what I think is a good opportunity.

Some good, balanced posts in here on the subject of KT possibly leaving. There's also some outright disgraceful, selfish and spiteful pish! Honestly * want tae have a word wae themselves if they think they have the right to give KT peters if indeed he does decide to move on.

    * pathetic.

I don't have a kid, so maybe I'm just flaunting my ignorance here, but wouldn't it depend on the boy's character? What I mean is, parents know their kids very well and will have a fair idea what sort of thing it is their child wants to do with their life. Wouldn't you advise them accordingly?

I know it's not the same thing as a son or daughter, but FWIW I'm thinking I would give my two (very different) nieces totally different advice on this one. Is that very different where your own children are concerned?

There are always one or two actual dicks; but I honestly believe the majority of the people you are thinking of are just hurting and are no more likely to give him pelters if and when he leaves than you and I are. We should cut them some slack for today and give them a few days to calm down. If they are still at it a week from now, then yeah, they're dicks.

Nah man, grown adults berating a young lad trying to get to the top of his profession, it stinks. Even doubting the bhoys credentials as a proper Celtic man. * clueless * mate.

I wouldn’t blame the boy if he left if an offer came in and was accepted.
He’s been over played for the last four years. Every thug in Scottish Football has attacked him with impunity and the injuries are stacking up.
He has a talent in a job with a limited window of opportunity. The money he is currently on should have already set him up better than most of the rest of us, but he might get one shot at this.
His pelvic/pubic/hip injury could severely debilitate him as it has already. He must be seriously weighing up his options.

Even so, in some people money and bright lights can do a lot to skew emotions.

It’s a very tricky one and it’s a decision that won’t be easy to make.. A lot would depend on what he wanted, obviously.

However if KT sees his future away from us, I would tell him to grasp the opportunity. I mean if he was to go and do as well as we know he can, Arsenal could be a stepping stone to Barca for example..

Seems like it's just 'when' rather than 'if' now, we all knew this day was coming to be fair, the boy is a once in a generation player, certainly in Scotland and unfortunately everybody has their price.

I'm actually quite chuffed with our board's resilience, but I can only see this ending one way.

He'll go down there and tear it up and fair doos to him.

If the magic number is 25 for the Board, then he'll be gone before the window shuts.
