The money is downplayed on here. It's a huge and completely justified motivator to move . As you say , you can't blame him .

    Do I?

I actually have Liverpool above Man Utd due to their 6 European Cup wins outweighing United's domestic upper hand.

Will be very disappointed if he goes, but I'll be disgusted if it's for anything less than 30m.

European history, Domestic history and fan base are combined together to come to the final conclusion of which club is bigger, Paul.

So, no, Rangers aren’t bigger than Celtic.

The reason why Man Utd and Liverpool are seen as the top two in England is due to their history domestically and in Europe.

Arsenal are in the argument for third.

‘Are they *, by any yardstick’ means you believe someone else to be third?

I’m interested to know who but you’ve yet to say.

Manchester United are a bigger football club than Liverpool, they have and always will be the biggest English club.

Trying to determine how big a football club is, is like counting the number of angel on the head of a pin.

I’ve already rhymed off stadia, money and cups and shown there’s clubs bigger in all 3 categories.

It’s a toss up - if Arsenal had won the Champions League they would be clearly 3rd but they haven’t and that is a huge factor. If you believe Arsenal are bigger than Forrest because of recent success then City are bigger than Arsenal on even more recent success.

Trying to down play European success on a Celtic forum is never going to hold much weight. We believe we’re the biggest and most successful club in Scotland, which we are, because of 1967. Remove that and we aren’t.

I've seen quotes from players who've rejected less successful clubs to stay with the one they love. Quotes along the lines of "One trophy with X would mean so much more than winning several with Y".

If he stays with Celtic and we win the 10 in two years, Brown will leave and KT will be the obvious choice for club captain and will get another big contract (in Celtic terms). OK, he'll be playing against poorer opponents and earning less money, but the money is still great, he'll be winning trophies and would go down a legend at the club he grew up supporting. He can put himself up there with the all-time greats.

I know what I'd do in his shoes, but I still won't begrudge him the move if he chooses to go.

Your right mate, could be over in the blink of an eye, only have to look at John Kennedy, bhoy was playing best football of his career was a centre half who had everything, tackling, heading passing, reading of a game

A daft international friendly v Rumania, disgusting challenge and effectively his career was over

That part is plainly untrue. They had won just two league titles before 1952.

They’ve definitely been the more successful and richer club in recent times under Ferguson.

Anyway, that’s your opinion and my opinion is Liverpool are the bigger club historically.

I said before KT will move because everybody no matter what your profession is wants to improve to the best level they can, nobody wants to stagnate. KT leaving or not will come down to the ambition of the Club. If he sees the board investing heavily in the squad with quality players being brought in to take us to the next level, he will stay for at least the 10. If the board do not invest enough in the squad then he wont stay. Would he risk not making 10 when he could make millions more playing at a higher level? If he left now he could say he did his part. But he is Celtic through and through, his family will have some bearing on what he does. But to lose KT for anything less than £25m with addons would be steal of the century, and then a further kick in the baws when the board don't reinvest it into the team.

Can totally understand why he would want to move to one of the best teams in the EPL, gutted but I get it. Invest the money we get wisely in the first team and we should overall become stronger
