Your right, if Tierney was English he would be in the England team, whether it’s the spl there playing every Celtic fan and their dog knew van dijk would be a massive hit in epl, guy just oozed class, so does Tierney, not saying the only reason and the back up wasn’t great but it’s not a coincidence our worst 2 performances this season at the hole was when Tierney wasn’t playing

They aren’t bidding for a player from an English club though. The prices in English football are because it’s by far the richest league on the planet where teams get hundreds of millions of pounds just to finish 17th.

Nicholas always had a chip on his shoulder especially when Arsenal are concerned, went down believing his own hype

Tbf he did have a few cracking season s at Celtic but did nothing at Arsenal and came back up to Scotland signing for Aberdeen

Aye but the reason those player's like De Ligt and co are at reasonable prices for their quality is because it's nothing to do with the English market..

English club's are mostly the richest about that will splash ridiculous money. If Arsenal are wanting to penny pinch these days then we should bypass them completely..

If KT is to go then the likes of Everton and even Leicester will out spend them this summer..

We shouldn't be backed in to a corner by a top 4 finishing EPL club over 20 odd million. It's pathetic on their part to be honest..

No team is going to pay the anything remotely close to the money for Bissaka though.

Why would Everton go for Tierney when they supposedly had lined him up last summer but we’re put off by his price tag so went and signed Digne who had a brilliant season?

And why would Leicester sign him when they’ve got Chilwell?

And we aren’t being backed in a corner hence the reason we’ve told them the price and rejecting their bids until they get the price met.

You said McGuire will go for more than De Ligt, you might be right but anyone that pays over 70M for McGuire is aff their head

    That’s my point.

Using transfers between English clubs to somehow say we should be getting similar money doesn’t make sense.

Would be raging if we accepted £20m. After VVD we should be getting top money for our players going down there. Would be looking for at least £35m for KT.

You have to wonder * it has to do with this old hun? And why are the media seeking his opinion?

The ‘other side’ are desperate to get him sold.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48780865

“Charlie Adam believes Arsenal could be "the next progression" in Kieran Tierney's career but says the Gunners will need to pay "serious money" for the Celtic left-back.

Arsenal have had a £15m bid rejected by the Scottish champions but are expected to return with an improved offer.”

Aye i know, but even half is still a * take (although they haven't even got to half)..

Digne and particularly Chilwell are being heavily linked away for big money moves. Even more reason why club's like that should be having to pay big money for KT. If Chilwell goes to Atletico for 80 mill, do you think 20 is fine for KT?

We don't know what the price is for definite. It's being reported as 25, but I'd like to think we'd hold out for 30 realistically with a 15% future sell on clause..

We don't need Everton or Leicester to bid for him. Infact we don't need anyone to bid for him.

We're already 10s of millions of pounds in the black, he's contracted til 2023 and he's content where is. He leaves on our terms and our terms only, if EPL clubs want to low ball us because they don't value his performances as much as they do the likes of Bissaka or Chilwell then that's their prerogative.

As @McGuire said Stones went for £50 million in the same summer we sold Van Dijk for 1/4 of that, we all knew we were getting done, Sutton said it at the the time too. Time has shown we were right; that's something we've got to learn from.

I never said I thought £20m for KT was fine.

Digne and Chilwell are being linked with big money moves because they’re at English clubs who’ve got tv money. Same way that our prices go up as we’re making more money from previous sales and CL football.

And if Chilwell does go for £80m and Leicester immediately target KT then we’ll probably be able to squeeze a few million out of them but that’s probably more to do with the fact that Rodgers/Congerton simply wont have scouted any replacements and have no * lined up.

I don’t see an Everton paying anything like £30m plus 15% sell on when they could go and get someone like Telles for £35m straight up with no sell on or any other clauses. And this is only after they signed Digne because they wouldn’t meet the asking price for KT...

Not saying I’m ‘happy’ with £25m and the thought of KT going but I can understand it. The same way that the big sale after will probably be higher. (Say £30m for Ajer in a couple of years).

Until we build a team that actually does something in Europe like Ajax we aren’t going to be getting stupid money for our players.
