It is acceptable to call in sick because of a gaa match, have a bit of a dilema.I haven't missed a championship match since 2010 and working next Saturday and I am struggling to swap my shift, what should I do... I never call in sick, it's likely they will cop on as well!!

Diarrhoea and sickness. Take 3 days off. If you never do it they should be believed. Google the symptoms and tell relay them to you're gaffer.

Just call in sick the evening before.

It's mad how much pressure people put on themselves never to call in sick. Just do it, nothing will really be any different.

Just break your * during a tantric love making session with your hand.

That way you know you've got fact based evidence to go back on to say you can't come in and get a few extra days off just for the fun of it.

Running a risk as the game will be televised. Granted it will be highly unlikely the camera man will pick you out but it's also not impossible!

Ask for the day off,the fact you never call in sick is a decent bargaining tool, tell them you'll work a day some other time as a swap.

Firstly it depends on your level of employment with the company. Management? Retail staff? Security?
Are you paid handsomely for the work you do?
Does your job provide income to support family. Bills. Nights out?
How are you treated in work by your peers? (Would you feel bad about letting people down)

This all sort of covers the bases on wether you should turn up or actually give a *. If this is a skilled labour or apprenticeship then you would be doing a disservice to yourself and sometimes you have to be responsible by missing important times unfortunately.
If it’s a case you are non management (even then) and just staff then you absolutely call in sick, regardless of wether they know or not. They can’t call you out. With most jobs now you are better taking a run of three or four days if you are getting paid. One day is viewed badly if not worse.
If you don’t normally take the * just remember you are only a face in a uniform who can be replaced at the drop of a hat. Even if you were taking a heart attack at work they would ask you to hold on for a couple of hours until cover arrives.
Always someone at work who manages to pull sickies and can do no wrong and Get away with it and you get all the *.
I would say, gut instinct, * them. Go to the game, enjoy, have a few shandy and as I said use it as one of your sick periods as opposed to sick day.

Btw don’t put party pics on Facebook or Instagram.:50:

Just call in sick, or better still fake being sick on Friday and say you have to go home early that day, it will make your call on Saturday that much easier.

Either that or just beg the Boss for a day off or to get away early on Saturday.

Though If you do call in sick, they really cant do anything, your covered and in a few days any suspicions will be well forgot about.
