    CELTIC could move for FC Copenhagen right-back Peter Ankersen.

    One of transfer guru Nick Hammond’s first jobs will be to find a replacement for Mikael Lustig after the Hoops legend signed a three-year deal with Gent.

    Danish cap Ankersen is leaving Copenhagen and Celts are aware of the 28-year-old’s availability as they weigh up all options.

    Meanwhile, the Scottish champions are poised to confirm the £3million signing of David Turnbull from Motherwell after the midfielder rejected a move to Norwich.

    Neil Lennon said: “The deal will be concluded, hopefully today.

    “Thankfully he’s chosen us over Premier League teams, which is quite a coup for us.


    “We’re hoping to get a few more in, hopefully to join us in the camp in Austria.

    “We’re looking in three or four areas and we know the areas where we need to strengthen.”

    Lennon was on Friday night preparing to welcome David Turnbull to the club as the Motherwell man put the finishing touches to his move with FC Copenhagen right back Peter Ankersen also a target.

    Ankersen, Copenhagen's Danish international, has one year left on his contract but is believed to have told his club that he wont be signing an extension.

    Lennon would have to pay around £2.5m to land the 28-year-old and the fee does not appear to be prohibitive.
