Not sure it matters the order at the moment.. Just happy we're looking at that model.

Aye its long over due.. And Lenny isn't an egotist, can imagine him working well with a DOF.

Then the official excuse for not operating in the transfer window would be "we just brought in this DOF and we cannot do any business until he has time to know the club and prepare a shortlist".

As long as he broadens his search further than the U.K.

Looking at the signings at Reading and West Brom during his spells there he seems to love an English based player.

I want us to get back to scouting the lesser leagues like Croatia, Belgium, Holland, Denmark etc.

Aye I'm not saying he's the right man for the job, it's just refreshing that's the road we're going down.

It does though. You get a manager who fits into the DOF’s system. Not a DOF to suit the manager. It’s the tail wagging the dog.

Lawwell is doing exactly what Woodward is doing at Man Utd. Getting a cheap manager who’s a yes man and won’t ever get a better job while the football departments needs serious work.

Now they’ll boy employ DOF’s nowhere near the required standard who are patsy’s. When they inevitably fail we’ll get the old ‘we tried the model and it didn’t work’ patter.

    It’s so obvious what’s happening.

Aye in an ideal world that's what you'd look to do, but the situation and timing of Rodgers departure and with the way Lenny came in meant that a decision had to be made on him first and foremost.

Not sure how much autonomy a DOF will get under Lawell in any case.

It is different as Lenny was already in place and became a genuine dilemma for the board after delivering the triple Treble.

There's still time for Hammond to demand higher wages and get in a twitter feud with the club over the next couple days.

I feel like we’re falling so far behind. I was so positive after Rodgers’ first season, I felt we could compete in Europe again. I predict a pumping in the qualifying and then either a scraping EL play off win or nothing at all. Then a fail in the groups if we get that far.

I’m finding it hard to find anything positive atm but it’s still “early days”. We need a overhaul, I’d bet my left baw we go into the qualifiers in a * state AGAIN.

Couldn’t agree more. Fed up of constantly looking to England for players these days when we can get so much more for our money in other countries like you have mentioned.

Feels like an eternity ago now that we were been more adventurous in the transfer market and signing the likes of Van Dijk, Wanyama, Kayal etc.

It isn’t a DOF if they don’t get any say in major decisions.

This is it copied and pasted - CELTIC Football Club announced today that Nick Hammond will be joining Celtic on July 1 to work with the Club, initially across the summer period

    Confirmed on our website now.....

It's a new model we've not really worked under before, don't see any issue in it being a temporary position to start with.
