Can't help but note, he must have got them relegated as well.

Definitely a good direction to go in, get Peter away from footballing operations a little more.

Know little of the guy, apart from the comments in here, hoping he has a good stint here.

The DOF if we get one has to have enough about him to look at and revamp the whole footballing operation if needed.

My mates son (14) had both us and the Huns looking at him, he's been advised the Huns have a better youth setup at the mo.

Aye they seem to have completely restructured their youth setup..

Signing highly rated kid's from different countries academies and playing a similar style throughout..

That's one department they've got a march on us just now. We've guy's like O'Halloran who seems clueless as a youth coach..

They've got loads of Tim's in there ranks. Their best one probably is Josh McPake who they nabbed from Hibs. Celtic supporter, like many other's..

Advised by who though, obviously the huns are going to say they have a better youth set up.

Apparently common knowledge in youth football.

I'd be happy to switch to the DOF model but, don't know much about Hammond tho. Has to be the right man but that may not happen overnight. The first team rebuild is paramount but maybe the whole structure needs ravamping, however difficult it is to hear.

We definitely need a club wide revamp we have took our eye off the ball on the youth setup

Our youth set-up isn't the worst, we've had success with the likes of Forrest, Tierney and McGregor who are the core of our Treble Treble winning side and all worth 8 figures now. No other academy in Scotland has had that level of success but obviously we've got to set the bar higher.

My gripe with our set-up is how midfield-centric it is. Our 3 most promising prospects at the moment are Mikey Johnston, Karamoko and Ewan Henderson. Before our current crop our big successes were the likes of McGeady and Maloney.

When was the last decent CB we brought through? McManus? That's 15 years.

When was the last decent striker we brought through? Craig Beattie (being generous) That's 16 years.

Room for improvement. Especially as the EPL/Champions League cash pushes us further and further down the pecking order.

The Turbull saga could also become a hinderance when trying to bring in the best boys.
Our own boys are used sporadically at best, even at times when its baffling
i.e after the league was wrapped up and/or positions injury ridden

Church has never had a runout
Aitcheson has barely made bench nvm app
Henderson in and out of the squad despite showing promise
    Etc
    Etc

Agreed mate, but McGregor, KT and Forrest have been part of the first team for a good few seasons now.. we need to make sure we keep improving/developing our youth setup.. not sure how much the Rodgers regime did in that department? He improved those players around the first team, but did he change/improve or implement much in our youth setup?

Only takes a couple of years to fall behind.

We should be leading the field in every aspect.

This guy signed a player called Jobi btw.

If that isn’t a red flag I don’t know what is.

His role was essentially the same except he was under the manager in the pecking order, not above

Cause we're being run by Lawwell and his tory pals. All they care about is share prices and profit margins.

That's why the recruitment process is an absolute *, while we're supposed to cheer the news about hotels, disco lights, and rotating billboards.

A DOF, should have a a head of Scouting/Recruitment under him.. and should have a bigger remit than just recruitment.
